Dear friends of Mathematics at WIU!

As we begin an exciting new chapter at Western Illinois University, I want to take a moment to reassure our students, alumni, colleagues, and friends that our commitment to mathematics and to the students we serve remains stronger than ever.

We are here. We are moving forward. And we are excited about the opportunities ahead!

As Director of the new School of Computing, Data, and Mathematical Sciences, I am enthusiastic about the possibilities this transition creates. Bringing together mathematics, data science, and computing will strengthen collaboration, allow us to leverage resources more effectively, and create new opportunities for our students, faculty, and the communities we serve.

Our commitment remains unchanged. We will continue to respond to the evolving needs of today's students while building on the tradition of excellence that has defined our mathematics programs for decades. Together, we will prepare the next generation of problem solvers, innovators, educators, and leaders.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our department over the years. I am grateful for your confidence, and I look forward to building this exciting future together.
