Welcome, students! We hope you're enjoying your first day of class. This Friday, we will be hosting a "Welcome to the New Semester" party in the third-floor lobby of Memorial Hall from 1-3 p.m.! The School will provide free walking tacos and drinks to our majors and grads. In addition to the food, this is a great way to meet and chat with faculty and fellow students as we head into the new school year! At 2 p.m., we will move into Memorial 338 for an informational meeting (which our online majors can attend as well). The meeting will go over some of the exciting opportunities available to our students this year, so don't miss it!

Dr. Chris Carpenter, Professor of Communication in the School of Communication and Media at Western Illinois University, was recently honored with the 2025 John E. Hunter Meta-Analysis Research Program Award from the Information Systems Division of the International Communication Association. The award recognizes excellence in an ongoing research program in meta-analysis rather than celebrating a single article.
