Welcome to the violin studio page at WIU!💜💛 They also won concerto competitions at Western Illinois University and Brevard Summer Festival.
Currently, my violin studio at Western Illinois University is comprised of undergraduate and graduate students from Europe, Asia, and the United States. My students are winners of prestigious regional and national competitions in the USA including the 2014 national winner of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Young Artist String Competition. The 2026 Participants and Jury have been announced!
We are pleased to share the names of the 40 Participants and the Jury for the 12th Quadrennial Indianapolis Violin Competition, taking place September 17 – October 4, 2026. These violinists, representing 10 countries from around the globe, will compete for more than $350,000 in prizes, including the $75,000 Gold Medal, over 17 days, culminating in the Finals with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Leonard Slatkin.
