Congratulations to History Professors Lee Brice and Tim Roberts for their awards of 2022 WIU Summer Stipends. Stipends are competitive internal grants that fund faculty research. Prof. Brice's research project is a for a book, "Present but Not Accounted For: Women and the Roman Military." Prof. Roberts's research project is for a collaboration with AP US History teachers, "Can Historical Thinking Skills Be Taught with a Game? Using the Interactive Story "Lincoln's Decision" in the High School Classroom."

Graduate student Jacob Wooldridge speaking (via Zoom) to high school teachers and public historians about his Twine interactive story, "Andersonville Prison," on October 8 at this year's Illinois State History Conference, hosted by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield. Jacob created the story for Tim Roberts's History of the Civil War class at Western in spring 2021.
