Mrs. Boes is passionate about making the library a place where curiosity is sparked, a love for reading grows, and every student feels valued and inspired. When she’s not at Beck, you might find her reading a good book, cheering on MSU, golfing in the summer, skiing in the winter, or enjoying time with her family!

Meet our social worker, Ms. Palmer!

This is Ms. Palmer’s second year at Beck, and she loves working with and supporting all of our students. She is a proud Oakland University graduate with both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work.

A few of Ms. Palmer’s favorite things include 📚 reading a good book, 🎬 movies and TV shows, 🍂 fall and Halloween, 💕 spending time with friends and family, and 🌿 enjoying nature.

✨ MEET THE STAFF: MS. NADER! ✨

We are so excited to welcome Ms. Jennifer Nader back for another wonderful year at Beck! ❤️💙 Ms. Nader will once again be teaching our 2nd grade Vikings!

Ms. Nader loves learning, helping others, and trying new things. She especially enjoys working with students who show kindness, work hard, and enjoy learning with others — all things we love to see in our Beck Vikings! 🛡️

➕ Math is one of her favorite subjects to learn about AND teach! When she isn’t in the classroom, Ms. Nader enjoys reading and exploring new places.

✨ MEET THE STAFF: MISS ARI! ✨

We are so excited that Miss Arianna DiCicco — Miss Ari — is back at Beck for her second year! ❤️💙

Miss Ari is a special education paraprofessional in our ASD 3–6 classroom, and she can’t wait to see our Vikings again and kick off another amazing year! 🛡️

🎓 Miss Ari earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Central Michigan University and is currently completing training to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)!

A few of Miss Ari’s favorites:

🎉 More exciting news from Beck!

Our Beck family is growing! Due to the addition of a third section of Young 5s, we are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Rys to our teaching team!

Mrs. Rys brings four years of kindergarten experience and a true love for helping our youngest learners grow academically, socially, and emotionally. She is especially excited to join Beck because two of her own children attended Young 5s here—so she already knows firsthand what a special place Beck is! 🥰

❤️💙 Meet the Staff: Ms. Kahler! 💙❤️

We are excited to welcome Ms. Deanna Kahler to Beck as one of our new Kindergarten teachers! 🍎✏️

Ms. Kahler brings such a unique background to our Viking family! Before beginning her teaching career five years ago as a PreK teacher, she spent more than 20 years as a writer and editor. She holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction, completed her student teaching in first grade, and has experience working with students in grades K–2.

Ms. Kahler believes that every child can thrive in school, and her goal is to make learning memorable and fun while encouraging her students to reach their full potential. We know that mindset will fit right in at Beck! ❤️

Outside of school, she loves walking, bike riding, visiting parks, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. She also has a daughter who is a junior in college and a feisty cat named QT Pi! 🐱 Her favorites include purple & blue, penguins 🐧, Italian and Mexican food, rock music, roses, and mint chocolate chip ice cream. 🍦

Welcoming brand-new teachers is one of Mrs. Parker’s very favorite parts of the start of a new school year, and we are so happy Ms. Kahler chose Beck to begin this next chapter of her teaching journey!

❤️💙 Meet the Staff: Mrs. DePalma! 💙❤️

Today we’re introducing another familiar face at Beck — Mrs. Amanda DePalma, or Mrs. D! 🛡️

Mrs. D has been part of our Beck community for 8 amazing years! She spent four years as a substitute teacher and is now entering her third year teaching ISM on Fridays. We love having someone who already knows and loves our Vikings helping our students learn and grow! 📚❤️

When she isn’t at Beck, Mrs. D loves spending time with her husband and their two boys. A few of her favorites include sushi 🍣, vanilla lattes ☕, the color pink 🩷, and basketball! 🏀

Mrs. D says one of the things she enjoys most is working with students and helping them learn and grow — and we’re so glad she continues to be part of our Beck family year after year!

🍎 Meet Mr. Barthelmeh! 🍎

Our next Meet the Teacher spotlight is a very familiar Beck Viking — Mr. Paul Barthelmeh, 5th Grade Teacher! ❤️💙

Mr. Barthelmeh is celebrating an incredible 25 years with Utica Community Schools, and even more special — he has spent his entire teaching career right here at Beck! During those years, he has taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades. That is a whole lot of Vikings who have been lucky enough to call him their teacher! 🥰

Outside of school, Mr. Barthelmeh loves spending time with his wife, Cathy, and their two sons, Gavin and Landon. You can often find their family heading up north to the cottage, camping in their RV, going to concerts, golfing, or enjoying just about anything sports-related! ⛳🏈⚾

25 years. One school. Countless Beck Vikings. ❤️💙 We are incredibly fortunate to have Mr. Barthelmeh’s dedication, experience, and commitment to our Beck community!
