A GREAT START TO THE 2026–2027 SCHOOL YEAR! 💛💜
What an exciting start to a new school year at Mabton School District! 🎒📚
We are so happy to welcome our students back to our classrooms and hallways! Thanks to the preparation, teamwork, flexibility, and dedication of our entire district, we experienced a smooth and successful start to the new school year.
🌟 Some highlights from our first days back:
🏫 Instructional Leadership: Our Superintendent and administrative team completed their first instructional leadership walk of the school year, visiting classrooms, connecting with students and staff, and seeing teaching and learning in action. What a great way to begin the year focused on what matters most—our students!
🍎 Kitchen Department: Our incredible kitchen staff jumped right in, preparing and serving meals and making sure our students were welcomed and ready to learn. Thank you for the hard work and preparation that happens before the first meal is ever served!
🔧 Maintenance & Custodial Teams: Our maintenance and custodial staff worked tirelessly to ensure our buildings and grounds were clean, safe, welcoming, and ready for students and staff. Much of their work happens behind the scenes, but it makes a tremendous difference every day!
📞 Secretarial Staff: Our amazing secretarial staff helped keep everything moving! They welcomed families, answered phones, assisted students, supported attendance and enrollment, helped with schedules, responded to countless questions, and handled all the unexpected needs that come with the beginning of a new school year. Thank you for being such an important connection between our schools, families, students, and staff!
🤝 Paraeducators & Support Staff: Our paraeducators and support staff were right alongside our teachers and students, providing individual assistance, helping students transition back into routines, supporting classrooms, and making sure students had what they needed to be successful. Your patience, encouragement, and dedication are an important part of our students' success!
💜 Support Services & Programs: A special thank you to our many support services and program staff, including our Migrant Program staff and other student and family support programs. These teams work to connect students and families with resources, provide additional support, remove barriers, and make sure our families know they have people they can turn to throughout the school year.
🏢 District Office Staff: Our District Office team was busy behind the scenes and on the front lines supporting families, employees, enrollment, staffing, payroll, operations, and the many details necessary to successfully open our schools. Thank you for stepping in wherever help was needed!
🚌 Transportation: Thank you to our transportation staff for safely getting our students to and from school and helping families adjust to the routines and schedules of a new school year.
📚 Teachers & Instructional Staff: Thank you to our teachers and instructional staff for opening their classrooms with enthusiasm and creating welcoming spaces where students can learn, grow, ask questions, and feel supported.
🤝 ALL HANDS WERE ON DECK!
From our Superintendent and administrators to our teachers, paraeducators, secretarial staff, District Office staff, Migrant Program staff, support services, transportation, kitchen staff, maintenance, custodial teams, and every other staff member and program—everyone had a role in making our first days successful.
Whether you were welcoming students at the door, helping a student find a classroom, answering a parent's question, preparing a meal, driving a bus, supporting a classroom, cleaning a building, helping a family access resources, or working behind the scenes to solve a problem—your contribution mattered.
Most importantly, our students were welcomed back with smiles, encouragement, excitement, and Viking pride! 💜💛
