We exceed expectations by educating children of all ages (our three-year-olds began to recognize words), but we also reach out to the families. We have assisted with resumes, GED compl

etion, transportation, housing searches, hair care, business start-up (including marketing materials) and employment. If the family does better, the children will do even better. We are located in Austell neighboring cities such as Mableton, Douglasville, Powder Springs, Atlanta and Marietta. Our owner, Rhonda Barnett, has established a vast following of area clientele over the past 14 years . We plan to continue to grow our business by maintaining our family first mentality and offering new services to strengthen the family ties.

Our Newest Little Taekwondo Stars! 💙🥋

Our new class of preschoolers had their very first Taekwondo lesson, and can we talk about how ADORABLE they look in their little uniforms?! 😍

There was lots of listening, learning, movement, and—of course—those first attempts at kicks and punches! 🥋

And this year, we have a very special addition to the class…our newest “Teacher Assistant!” One of our students who completed last school year is now the experienced one of the group and was more than ready to help show our new preschoolers how it’s done. ❤️ Talk about a full-circle moment!

This is one of the things we love about including Taekwondo as part of the BFLA experience. They’re having fun, but they’re also building confidence, coordination, focus, discipline, and self-control along the way.

New school year. New little uniforms. New skills loading… 🥋✨

We can’t wait to see how much this group grows!

🥒 From Garden to Table! 🌱

There was something extra special on the menu today... cucumbers grown by our very own little gardeners! 💚

Each Friday, our children look forward to spending time in the garden with Ms. Yvette, who has been teaching them how to plant, care for, and harvest fruits and vegetables. This week, their hard work paid off as they picked fresh cucumbers from the BFLA garden and proudly tasted what they helped grow!

Gardening is about so much more than growing food. It teaches children:
🌱 Patience and responsibility
🌞 Where healthy foods come from
🪴 How to care for living things
🥒 The confidence to try new foods
🧠 Science, observation, and problem-solving through hands-on discovery

At Building Foundations Learning Academy, we believe some of the best lessons happen outside the classroom. Watching our children proudly taste something they nurtured from seed to harvest was a beautiful reminder that when we plant seeds of curiosity, responsibility, and confidence, we're growing so much more than a garden—we're growing lifelong learners.

🟪🟩 Learning Through Play… One Block at a Time! 🟦🟥

Who says learning has to happen at a table?

Today, Ms. Vanessa brought out our giant Tetris blocks, transforming playtime into an exciting lesson in geometry, problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking. As the children explored how each shape fit together, they were developing spatial awareness, strengthening cognitive skills, and learning to think through challenges—all while having an incredible time!

At BFLA, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens when children are actively engaged, curious, and having fun.

A special shoutout to Ms. Vanessa, whose creativity and enthusiasm continue to make learning exciting. She has a wonderful way of turning everyday activities into meaningful educational experiences that keep our children smiling, thinking, and growing.

If you’ve ever met Ms. Kaya, you know she has a way of keeping our parents laughing, our staff on their toes, and always stepping in wherever she’s needed. Whether she’s helping in the classroom, lending a hand behind the scenes, or simply brightening someone’s day with her sense of humor, she is truly an important part of the BFLA family.

As an owner, one of the greatest blessings is having someone who is dependable, hardworking, and always has your back—and Ms. Kaya has been exactly that for the past nine years.

There is nothing quite like seeing a former BFLA student walk back through our doors. 💙

This sweet young lady started her journey with us as an infant and stayed until she graduated from our Pre-K program. Today, she’s thriving in elementary school, and hearing how well she’s doing is the greatest reward we could ask for.

Watching our children grow into confident, successful students reminds us that the love, learning, encouragement, and strong foundations built during those early years truly matter.

Moments like these fill our hearts and remind us why we do what we do.

Once a BFLA family, always a part of the BFLA family. 💙

This weekend, our BFLA team stepped out of the classroom and into the escape room — and escaped Amnesia with just 45 seconds left on the clock! ⏰🔐

Watching our team problem-solve, communicate, and work together in a completely different setting was such a fun reminder of the strengths each person brings to BFLA every day.

We believe investing in our team matters — because when you build a strong team, you build a stronger program.
