The Flow of Energy!
This week, students will be introduced to their first Real World Learning experience.
Our unit is on the flow of energy throughout our world.
Is energy everywhere?
Where does all our energy come from?

This will be a three week learning experience for my students. By the end of this first week, they will have helped create a calendar of assignment due dates and set the date for their final project presentations. Their presentations will be part of our student show case in the spring of 2017.

Students will be having a quiz over Science Safety this week. They will also be getting progress reports this week.

We will be starting our first Real World Project, of the year, by Friday. I am looking forward to seeing what my students will develop during this project based on the flow of energy.

Our first week went great! students worked together to create a Pirate Pact/Social Contract to help create a productive and safe learning environment.
This week students will be creating an online board/poster about themselves. They will be using their Discovery Education Techbook and Board Builder to help them. The assignment can be found in their Techbook, under assignments. We will also be setting up our Science Journals this week, so that we can start collecting our thoughts and analyzing our knowledge.

Welcome To Seventh Grade Science!

I am looking forward to an exciting new year with new students to get to know and work with.
This year I am striving to have the majority of my student assignments handed in electronically.
For this reason, my classroom will be available to students after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until 5:30 pm. During this time, students will have access to computers and the internet to work on any assignments, for any subject. They do not have to be working on a science assignment to take advantage of this computer and internet access times during these afternoons.
