Dear parent(s)/guardian(s),

This year’s Elementary Spring Program will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. This year’s program is called “Creepy Creatures” by Sally K. Albrecht and Jay Althouse. Have you ever wondered what is so important about bats? How about lizards and snakes? You’ll learn all about these ‘Creepy Creatures’ and why they are so important to our ecosystems. This program will include Preschool through 6th grade students. If possible, I would like the students to wear some kind of shirt with a “creature” on it with khakis or nice jeans. (No holes and appropriate length shorts are acceptable) Of course, if you already have nice clothes chosen for your child/ren to wear, that will be fine as well. Reminder, the concert is Thursday, April 27 @ 6:30 pm, with students arriving by 6:20 pm.

Last week, I wrapped up my 10th year of teaching K-6 General music... Next year, I will be onto a new challenge in the same school... 3 yr old PreK through 3rd grade General music! No doubt will it be fun... bring on year 11! 😄

5th & 6th grades studied a piece by Franz Schubert.... they were tasked with creating a comic with using the German song and the literal translation before watching an animation of the piece.... here is a small selection of their creations!

A lot of little birdies said "Wicked!" last night was amazing! If you would like another opportunity to see another Broadway show, "Anastasia" will be coming to the Orpheum in June. Tickets start at $35, but are going fast! The link I included is for the Sunday (June 12) matinee at 1:00 and has the most $35 seats available. Hope to see some of you there!

Happy Star Wars Day!
Elem music is full of activities involving John Williams and Star Wars. The older students will be recreating the Star Wars Theme using Google Chrome Music Lab, while the littles will be learning about John Willliams and doing some listening maps on the different songs in Star Wars....

Kindergarten through 2nd grade students are learning about the instrument families until the end of the school year! We are going to learn about the Strings family first and what better way than by making our very own stringed instruments?! If you can, please have your student/s bring a small box (no bigger than a shoebox) and we will get to creating!! Have a great weekend!

Today is FUN FRIDAY!!
My 5th graders will be listening to Vivaldi's "Spring" and drawing whatever comes to mind to relax before what I am sure will be a busy weekend.
3rd and 4th graders will be practicing their instruments by playing "Poison" (A super fun rhythm game!)
While my littles will be working a bit on their Folk song puppet show (3 Little Pigs) and maybe some Kidz Bop fun!
