๐จ Washington Wildfire Update ๐จ
With wildfires impacting communities across Washington, now is the time to stay informed and protect yourself and your loved ones. โค๏ธ
๐ซ๏ธ Protect yourself from wildfire smoke:
โข Check your local Air Quality Index (AQI) before spending time outdoors.
โข If the AQI reaches 101 or higher (Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups), consider limiting outdoor activityโespecially if you have asthma, heart or lung conditions, are pregnant, are older, or are caring for young children.
โข When air quality becomes Unhealthy (AQI 151+), everyone should reduce prolonged outdoor activity.
โข Keep windows and doors closed when smoke levels are high, and use a HEPA air purifier if you have one.
โข If you must be outside in heavy smoke, wear a well-fitting N95 respirator.
โข Stay hydrated and watch for symptoms like coughing, difficulty breathing, chest pain, or dizziness.
๐ฅ Be wildfire aware:
โข Follow evacuation orders immediately if theyโre issued for your area.
โข Keep an emergency kit packed and ready.
โข Stay updated through trusted local emergency management agencies and official wildfire alerts.
๐ Check in on your neighbors, especially older adults and anyone with health conditions. A quick message or phone call can make a big difference.
Stay safe, stay informed, and take care of one another. ๐ซถ
