The Edmonds School District, League of Women Voters of Snohomish County and My Neighborhood News Network invite our community to come together for a reading of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, plus cookies! 🍪

The League of Women Voters will also provide free pocket Constitutions and share information about ways we can all support democracy.

⏰ Reminder: Tomorrow, Friday, September 11, is our first Friday of the school year, which means our first 75-minute early release for all schools!

Throughout the school year, schools will dismiss 75 minutes earlier every Friday, except on days when there is no school and Friday, October 30, which is a half-day early release.

The 75-minute early release provides dedicated time for staff professional development, including both staff-directed learning and school-led activities.

🎒💛 Our kindergarteners are officially in school!

Today, we welcomed our kindergarten students for their first day of the 2026–27 school year! From meeting their teachers and classmates to learning classroom routines and exploring their new school communities, our newest students filled the day with smiles, curiosity and a sense of adventure.

To all the families who sent their kindergarteners through our doors for their first official day of school: Thank you for trusting the Edmonds School District with this special milestone. We’re so excited for all the learning, growing, friendships and memories ahead!

🎒 Tomorrow is a big day for our newest students!

We look forward to welcoming our kindergarten students for their first day of school tomorrow, Wednesday, September 9! 💛

Kindergarten starts a little later than other grades to make time for Family Connection Meetings. During the first few days of the school year, each incoming kindergarten family has dedicated time to meet one-on-one with their child’s teacher, ask questions, share important information and begin building a strong school-family connection.

We hope our kindergarteners have a wonderful first day and an amazing start to their school journey!

🎉 Brier Elementary rolls into SeaScare!

For the past 12 years, Brier Elementary has proudly participated in the City of Brier’s SeaScare Parade, and this year was no exception!

Students, staff and families joined the fun with a Brier Elementary banner, walkers and some impressive riders from the Brier Unicyclers! 🚲

We love seeing our schools out and about celebrating alongside their communities!
