Some of our 7th and 8th grade students returned today from a 3-day immersive overnight experience at The Ecology School at River Bend Farm in S**o, Maine. They had an incredible time spending their days outdoors and unplugged, taking part in hands-on E-STEM (Environmental Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) lessons and discovering new ideas about how our world works.

Over the course of their stay, students explored ecology topics like food systems and watersheds, competed in the Battle of the Biotic, and headed out after dark to learn about nature at night and our place in space! Along the way they enjoyed delicious meals and formed new friendships across the two grades.

Thank you to our chaperones Mr. Schevis, Mr. Griebel, Ms. Sequeira, and Mrs. Conway, and the faculty and staff at the Ecology School for helping to make this unforgettable experience happen for our students!

Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, our classes have been honoring the cultures, histories, and contributions of the Spanish speaking world.

Our 6th graders created this "Geography of Spanish Speaking Countries" display. Each student researched a country and made a flag, a country outline, and a fact sheet with details like the capital, currency, famous landmark, and traditional food. They also labeled and colored maps of South America, Central America, and the Caribbean.

Our 7th graders researched notable Hispanic people from the past and present, including Selena, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Shakira, and David Ortiz. They created timelines of each person's life, career, and contributions to their communities.

Today, 1st graders participated in engaging, pumpkin-themed STEM activities and experiments! Before rotating through each center, students made predictions and then tested their hypotheses through hands-on exploration. They measured the height of their pumpkins using snap cubes, measured the circumference using linking cubes, and placed their pumpkins in water to determine whether they would sink or float. Throughout the activities, students recorded their predictions and actual observations, practicing important skills in measurement, scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and data collection.

What a beautiful fall day! 🍁 We are so blessed to be surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation here in New England. Our 1st graders celebrate the season with their "It's Fall, Y'all" writing. Each student finished the sentence "I am grateful I can..." with a favorite autumn activity, like picking apples, jumping in leaves, climbing trees, and visiting a farm and pumpkin patch. They illustrated their sentences with colorful fall scenes and added sparkly leaf jars hanging above.

Today is the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary! 🌹

Did you know that it was our school's patron, Pope Saint Pius V, who first dedicated October 7th to the Blessed Virgin Mary back in 1571?

Students in grades 2-8 prayed the Rosary at Mass this afternoon. We look forward to continuing to celebrate the Blessed Mother and the Holy Rosary throughout October, the Month of the Holy Rosary!

We are so proud of our very own Sophia, a 2026 Youth Honoree with REAL!

She has dedicated herself to bringing books to children who are new to our country and specialized books to those with disabilities. Her service and kindness are an inspiration to us all!
