Researchers say that the earlier students visit colleges and learn about college application requirements, the more focused they become on achieving their dreams of becoming professionals. This is why, for many years, the students of the Spanish National Junior Honor Society have participated in weekly preparation meetings with Mrs. Rowe; about college careers and opportunities. These meetings allow students to discuss what they would like to study in college and prepare them for visits to universities such as Harvard University, and Boston College -WCAS, where they attended an informational session with the Associate Director of Admissions.
Today, the students had this wonderful experience and were able to envision themselves attending universities like these in the future. They enjoyed exploring classrooms, libraries, and museums on both campuses.
Thank you, Mr. Moriarty, for your continued support.

Last Friday, Breed students presented their civics projects to students, faculty, staff, and visitors at our annual Civics Day. Grade 8 students have been working hard in their Civics classes, discussing and analyzing issues that face their peers, community, and country. The presented projects were the result of students collaborating to set practical goals aimed at alleviating these issues. Presenters were engaged, knowledgeable, and professional when articulating their project and its larger impact on the world around them.
We congratulate them on their excellence and achievement!

Grade 8 students had the opportunity to welcome Holocaust survivor Janet Applefield during her visit to our school. She shared her powerful personal experiences from the Holocaust, giving students a chance to hear history firsthand and reflect on the importance of remembrance, resilience, and empathy.

Today, at My Brother’s Table, three people told to the students of the Breed Middle School Spanish National Junior Honor Society: “We really appreciate your help”.
That kind of moment sticks with people—on both sides of it. When someone who’s struggling takes the time to express gratitude, it makes the impact of even small acts of service feel very real.
For students, it turns an abstract idea like “helping the community” into something human and immediate. They see that their time isn’t just a requirement or a task—it genuinely matters to someone.
