Thirteen years of teaching ✨📚 and I still find myself in awe of how much this journey has grown and changed me.
The Reid House means more to me than I can fully put into words. It’s not just a school—it’s a place where curiosity is alive, where kids are seen for who they truly are, and where learning feels like discovery instead of pressure. Watching students grow in confidence, independence, and joy has been the greatest honor of my career. 💛
To every family who has trusted me with their children, to every student who has walked through our doors with big ideas and bright energy, and to every moment of laughter, challenge, and breakthrough—thank you. You are the heart of this place. 🌿
I’m ending my 13th year of teaching feeling deeply grateful, a little emotional, and more excited than ever for what’s ahead for The Reid House. This is only the beginning. 🚀
Here’s to learning that feels alive, community that feels real, and a future full of possibility. 🌟

What an incredible day at the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center! 🌿🐢🦉
Our students spent the day immersed in hands-on learning, exploring nature, observing wildlife, and discovering the beauty of the world around them. Experiences like these remind us that some of the best learning happens outside the four walls of a classroom. 💚
We are so thankful for opportunities that spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and create lasting memories for our students! 🌎✨

One of our most frequently asked questions is:
“If you don’t use letter grades, how do you know students are actually learning?” 🤔
At The Reid House, learning isn’t measured by a single test score or a letter on a paper — it’s demonstrated. ✨
At the end of each unit, students choose how they want to show what they’ve learned. That might look like recording a podcast or audio explanation 🎙️, creating a short video 🎥, teaching a mini-lesson to their peers 👩🏫, writing a newspaper article 📰, designing a poster 🎨, or building a model with Legos, clay, or a shoebox 🧱. Some students even create resources that others can use 📚.
This approach isn’t less rigorous — it’s more. 💡 Students have to truly understand the content in order to explain it, apply it, and create something meaningful from it.
We assess through clear learning goals 🎯, observation 👀, discussion 💬, real-world application 🌎, and student reflection 🪞.
When a child can teach it, build it, explain it, and apply it, we know they’ve learned it. And more importantly, they know it too. 🌟

Years in the classroom…
A leap into something different…
And a vision for what education could be.
As The Reid House has grown, it became clear—our brand needed to grow with it.
So today, we’re so excited to share a fresh look that better reflects who we are:
🌊 Hands-on learning
🌿 Rooted in community
✨ Built for curious, capable kids
Same heart. Bigger vision.
Welcome to the next chapter of The Reid House.

I didn’t become a microschool founder by accident. 🤍
For years, I was being prepared in ways I didn’t even realize at the time — as a big sister, as a public school teacher, and even as an entrepreneur. Every season was shaping me, stretching me, and quietly equipping me for something bigger.
Looking back now, I can see it so clearly… God had a plan all along. ✨
And then He brought Amy into my life — and everything shifted in the most beautiful way. Partnership, vision, purpose… all aligning at just the right time.
Now here we are in Atlanta, surrounded by incredible microschool leaders from across the nation, sharing ideas, building community, and representing something that started as a calling deep in our hearts back in Florida. 🌿
It’s humbling. It’s surreal. And it’s only the beginning.

🌟 This time of year, so many students and teachers feel the weight of standardized testing, retention meetings, and burnout. I remember the stress—the “will I pass?” fear, the endless mornings dragging yourself out of bed, the constant pressure.
At The Reid House, none of that exists. Students can enjoy learning year-round, at their own pace, in a space that celebrates curiosity instead of fear. Learning doesn’t have to be a race or a source of anxiety—it can be joyful, hands-on, and meaningful every single day.
School choice isn’t just an option—it’s a chance to reclaim childhood, curiosity, and confidence. 💜
