Melissa Jackman also known as MEL’s Family Child Care Home serves children from six weeks to 12 years old. I have a bachelor’s degree in Early Child Education from Springfield College 2011. As a single mom in the Northeast Kingdom, I am familiar with the needs of other single parent / families struggles in finding a Childcare Home / Center that is affordable and available for the Non-Traditional w

orking hours. It is especially important for the parents to be apart in a Childs education and growth. Parents are highly encouraged to be active in their Childs program here at Mel’s. By working closely and having a good repour we as a team will be able to Communication and get the resources you as the parents, or child may need. I believe that early childhood is a vital period of a child’s life during which the greatest brain development and growth occurs. I provide an enriching atmosphere in my home which enables children to develop socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. Here at MEL’S, I offer a loving, safe, and learning environment which provides developmentally appropriate experiences designed to stimulate these areas of growth. Early childhood is a time for play, fun, discovery, adventure, imagination and therefore I believe that learning begins with play. Daily lesson plans are introduced through structured themes with the children’s interest in mind. Through play, especially outside play children learn about themselves, others, and the world around them. Children develop and learn on an individual basis. Working with small group of children in my home enables them to receive the personalized attention they need to excel.

Part of the license process for my home childcare is that children 16 and over need to have fingerprints on file and HAVE criminal back ground check. APRIL 14TH MISS MEADOW WILL BE 16. SHE HAS STATED THAT NO SHE DOES NOT WANT TO BE IN A SYSTEM. As a mom I believe in a child having choices and being involved in the decision OF THEIR LIVES AND HOME. THIS BEING SAID MEL'S Licensed Family Child Care Home WILL LET PARENTS KNOW WHEN THE SET DATE IS... BUT AS OF NOW APRIL 13TH IS CUT OFF POINT WITHOUT VIOLATIONS.

OUR COMMUNITY HAS BEEN THROUGH A LOT THESE LAST 2 WEEKS. MISS LYNDONVILLE DINNER HAS CLOSED FOR GOOD AFTER SEVERAL YEARS. WHILE OTHERS STILL ARE TRYING TO CLEAN UP. FROM THE FLOOD 2 WEEKS AGO. OUR HEARTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH THE FAMILIES WHO HAVE LOST EVERYTHIN INCLUDING THEIR HOMES IN TODAYS FLOODING.
