For the fun of it.
Children are incredibly smarter than they think they are.
They are musically intelligent and empathetic to the emotion a composer intends- if they can be still enough to listen. If they are taught how to listen.
If they are caught at an early age, they will articulate their perception of a musical piece well, understand the literature better, and be able to articulate their ideas with great confidence.
