Happy Friday from LCS School Nutrition!

We’re wrapping up the week with some pretty great-looking plates from our elementary schools! From warm, cheesy pizza and seasoned potatoes to fresh salads, crisp apples, and those beautiful Virginia peaches, our students had plenty to choose from today.

Good food + lots of choices + Friday = a pretty great way to finish the school week. 💚

High School Lunch understood the assignment today!
From Heritage to E. C. Glass, our School Nutrition teams were serving up choices, flavor, fresh options, and plenty of reasons to head to the cafeteria!
Two high schools. Two great teams. One goal: meals our students want to eat.

This week, our secondary students are celebrating the August Harvest of the Month: Tomatoes! Students are enjoying fresh, house-made Pico de Gallo as part of the celebration. Fresh, flavorful, and delicious!

SHOUT OUT TO PRINCIPAL GOFF!!

On just the second day of the new school year, Linkhorne Elementary Principal Michelle Goff is already showing what it means to go the extra mile for students.

Ms. Goff is committed to making sure every student at Linkhorne has the opportunity to begin the school day with a nutritious breakfast. This morning, she went classroom to classroom delivering breakfast to students who missed picking up their meal as they entered the building.

Ms. Goff knows that a good breakfast matters. When students begin their morning well-nourished, they’re ready to focus, learn, and make the most of their school day.

Thank you, Ms. Goff, for not just believing in the importance of school breakfast, but personally making sure your students have the opportunity to eat it. That’s what going the extra mile for students looks like!
