Today, we celebrate two incredible educators whose dedication, passion, and love for students have made a lasting impact on Linkhorne Elementary.
After 25 years in education, including 24 years at LES, Mr. Ted Finney is retiring. Throughout his career, he taught both 4th and 5th grade, helping students build confidence, develop a love of learning, and prepare for the next steps in their educational journey. His steady encouragement and commitment to students have touched countless lives.
Joining him in retirement is Mrs. Carrie Finney, who has spent 25 years at Linkhorne Elementary. During her career, she taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades before spending the last six years inspiring creativity as our beloved art teacher. Whether in a homeroom classroom or the art room, Mrs. Finney has always encouraged students to think creatively, believe in themselves, and take pride in their work.
Together, the Finneys have dedicated 50 years of service to the students and families of LES. Their careers are a reminder that teachers who truly love what they do make all the difference in the lives of children. The lessons they taught, the relationships they built, and the care they showed each student will continue to have an impact long after retirement.
Thank you, Mr. Finney and Mrs. Finney, for your years of dedication, kindness, and service to Linkhorne Elementary. We are grateful for the legacy you leave behind and wish you both a wonderful, happy, and well-deserved retirement.

🎉☀️ What a fantastic last week of school at Linkhorne Elementary! ☀️🎉
We wrapped up an amazing year with Field Day fun, awards assemblies celebrating our students' hard work and achievements, and exciting spirit days all week long—including our staff-favorite Dirty Soda Bar on Monday! 🥤🦁
While we are sad to see our students head off for the summer, we are so proud of everything they accomplished this year and know they are ready for their next adventure. Our halls may be a little quieter, but we can't wait to hear about all the memories our Lions make this summer!
We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and fun-filled break. And don't forget—pick up a book and keep reading this summer! 📚 Reading a little each day is one of the best ways to stay sharp and ready for another great school year.
Have a wonderful summer, Linkhorne Lions! We'll see you in the fall! 🦁

🌟 Principal Appreciation Post 🌟
This year, we welcomed an incredible new principal to LES, and what a year it has been! ❤️
From day one, Michele Goff has brought joy, enthusiasm, and positive energy to our building. With 30 years in education, her passion for children and commitment to helping every student succeed shine through in everything she does.
For some of us, Mrs. Goff was once our teacher, so we already knew we were getting one of the very best. Now, as her colleagues, we have had the privilege of seeing firsthand what makes her such an exceptional leader. She is a champion for teachers, a steady source of support during challenges, and a rock for our students.
Whether she's greeting students by name each morning, celebrating their successes, listening to their concerns, or encouraging them to be their best, she makes every child feel seen, valued, and loved. She leads with kindness, integrity, and compassion while maintaining high expectations that inspire both staff and students to grow. Her open-door policy, willingness to jump in wherever needed, sense of humor, and dedication to building strong relationships have made a lasting impact on our school community.
A great principal doesn't just manage a school, they create a culture where students thrive, teachers feel supported, and families feel welcomed. Mrs. Goff does all of that and so much more. She is visible, approachable, supportive, and always focused on what is best for kids.
Thank you, Mrs. Goff, for an amazing first year at LES. Your leadership, heart, and unwavering belief in our students and staff have made our school a better place. A simple thank you doesn't seem like enough, but we hope you know how much you are appreciated and how grateful we are to have you leading our Lion family. 💙🦁

Today our 2nd grade classes welcomed meteorologist Thomas Battle from WSET, and let’s just say… our students may now be more prepared for severe weather than most adults. 🌪️☔😂
Students loved learning all about weather, storms, forecasting, and life as a meteorologist. They asked some AMAZING questions — and possibly a few that caught Mr. Battle off guard!
Big thanks to Thomas Battle for visiting our school and making weather way cooler than just checking the app before recess! ☀️🌦️

Imitation really is the best form of flattery! 💉💙
Today we celebrated National School Nurse Day by dressing up like our favorite nurse, Chantel West-White—and let’s just say, we tried our best to match her style! 😄
Thank you, Nurse Chantel, for all the care, compassion, and calm you bring to our school every single day. From band-aids to big hugs, you do it all—and we are so lucky to have you! 🩺✨

Last night was our Evening of the Arts… and WOW — it was a whole movie! 🎬✨
What a celebration of talent we witnessed! From incredible solo acts to dynamic duos, trios, and full grade-level performances, our students truly stole the show. We had singing, dancing, and even a ukulele performance by one of our talented 5th graders! 🎤💃🎶
Our school is full of stars, and last night they all shined so bright. ⭐ We are beyond proud of every single student who had the courage to get up there and share their gifts.
A HUGE thank you to our superstar Resource team — Mr. Kaweicki (Music), Mrs. Byrne (Librarian), Mrs. Finney (Art), and Mr. Watson (PE). This incredible group put together the entire night and absolutely ROCKED it! 🎸👏
Bravo to everyone who participated and helped make the night unforgettable! 👏

✨ Staff Spotlight: Second Grade Team ✨
Welcome to SECOND GRADE…where the confidence is growing, the reading is flowing, and the stories somehow get very detailed…with a few extra “and then…” added in! 😂📚
Second grade is such a sweet spot—students are becoming more independent, building strong skills, and starting to realize just how much they can do on their own. It’s also the year of “I got this!” followed by “Can you help me just a little?” 😄
Our Second Grade team works incredibly hard every single day to make learning meaningful, fun, and supportive for all students. From planning engaging lessons to encouraging every child to do their best, their dedication does not go unnoticed. They pour so much time, energy, and heart into their classrooms—and it truly makes a difference. 💙
We are so grateful for all they do and so lucky to have such a caring, hardworking Second Grade team at Linkhorne Elementary! 👏
