*Thematic units are used in promoting sensory-based learning, and an overview of the alphabet is incorporated during the school year. Pre-Kindergarten: 4-5 years
*The learning environment in the classroom is geared toward developing social, academic, and behavioral skills in order to promote a smooth transition to Kindergarten. Pre-Kindergarten: 5 years
*Our FIVES class is specifically designed for children who are eligible to attend Kindergarten but need an additional year of preschool to make the transition. Experiences for Your Children:

Chapel: The children attend Chapel (provided by the clergy) where they are taught a different Biblical theme each week. Music: Melody Makers provides music instruction once a week for our students. Playground: SJDS features a newly renovated playground, and all classes have at least 30 minutes of playground time each day.
