Today, the country music world lost more than a legend. We lost a voice, a storyteller, an inspiration, and a woman whose music brought generations together.

For those of us in the line dancing community, country music is more than something playing in the background. It’s what brings us to the dance floor. It creates friendships, memories, and moments that stay with us forever. Dolly Parton was part of the soundtrack to so many of those moments.

From the unmistakable sound of her voice to the stories she told through her songs, Dolly helped shape country music into what it is today. But her legacy reaches far beyond music. Her kindness, generosity, faith, humor, and love for people made her just as beautiful on the inside as the sparkling personality the world knew and loved.

At Hometown Line Dancing, we believe music has the power to bring people together—and Dolly spent a lifetime proving exactly that.

Tonight, the dance floor feels a little different. The country music family has lost one of its brightest lights, but her songs will continue to play, her stories will continue to be told, and generations will continue to sing and dance to the music she left behind.

We are dancing for cause tonight! The foundry is a free event so instead of charging a cover, we are asking everyone to at least donate $5 to our cause this month. We have selected the Friends of Staunton, Augusta, waynesboro Animal shelter as our charity this month. I hope everyone will participated tonight and can’t wait to see everyone tonight!

Join Hometown Line Dancing tonight, August 22 at The Foundry at Basic City Beer Co in Waynesboro, VA for a night of dancing, fun, and giving back to our community!

We are asking everyone to donate just $5 dollars (you’re welcome to do more) to our community cause this month. This month the proceeds will go to Friends of Staunton Augusta Waynesboro Animal shelter to help with food and care for the animals in this area
