Westover Honors Community at the University of Lynchburg

Westover Honors students continue to do amazing things! Congratulations to Claire Galloway ’23 and Emily Bray ’23 on earning their Doctorates in Physical Therapy. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to achieving this milestone. Their accomplishments are an inspiration to our entire Westover Honors community!

We want to congratulate Amy Enneking, our administrative coordinator, for being an NCHC nominee for their 2026 award for administrative excellence! Thank you so much Amy for all the hard work you put into our program to help us grow and succeed!

We were so fortunate to have Lorraine Upton in Westover Honors! Lorraine has a true servant’s heart and is an outstanding student who consistently goes above and beyond in both her academic work and her support of others. Her kindness, dedication, and quiet leadership have made a lasting impact on our community. We will miss you, Lorraine!!!

Senior Highlight: Lorraine Upton 🎓🌱

Lorraine Upton was recognized at the Academic Awards Ceremony with two awards for her outstanding research achievements.

A Westover Honors Fellow, Lorraine is majoring in Environmental Science and Sustainability, with minors in Studio Art and Electronic Media. She has combined scientific inquiry with creative exploration while earning Dean’s List honors. She is also a campus photographer and actively involved with the Outdoor Leadership Program.

Following graduation, she plans to return home and begin her career at her local water treatment plant.

Congratulations, Lorraine! We look forward to all you will accomplish!

Westover Honors Spring Banquet ‘26!

We are so thankful to have had time to come together and celebrate such an amazing year together! Huge thank you to our professors and faculty for all you do! The Westover community is so thankful for all the hard work you guys put in!

On April 17, Dr. Price Blair accompanied eight Westover Honors students to the VCHC (Virginia’s Collegiate Honors Council) Spring Conference held at Shenandoah University.

The conference provides honors students with a professional academic setting to present their research, creative work, and interdisciplinary projects to peers and faculty from across the region. Presentations take place in a variety of formats, including oral presentations, posters, roundtables, and performances, and include both completed research and works in progress.

Westover students in attendance included Kaleigh Bennett, Zoey Horn, Saida Ehsani, Sophia Schorr, Lorraine Upton, and Rita Mitchell. Zoey Horn and Rita Mitchell also presented at the conference but were not pictured. University of Lynchburg

This past Friday we celebrated our annual Academic Awards Ceremony where we recognized 103 students and six faculty members with various awards pertaining to their area of study.

Of those awards the Robert L. Hill Distinguished Senior Award is given each year to a senior who ranks in the top 2% of the graduating class, has pursued a challenging and rigorous curriculum, and has exhibited involvement in campus and community life.

This years winner is Annalise Williams! Annalise is a Westover student majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry and Sports Medicine. She is a member of the Women's Cross Country and Track and Field Team. After graduation she plans to attend PA school at Johns Hopkins!
