The program has been carefully planned to meet the needs of the student through proven instructional methods grounded in research. Established in partnership with the regional health care community, the DPT program is designed to meet the growing demand for physical therapists.

Full circle moment 👩‍⚕️📚

This is only a handful of presentations shown today at Grand Rounds where our third years return from their final clinical rotations to share the patient cases that left a lasting impact. Real stories, real growth, and a reminder of why we chose this path.

Stay tuned to see them walk at Graduation later this week!
From classroom to clinic and back again, proud is an understatement! Go hornets!

Grateful for an awesome hands-on learning experience at Virginia Sport & Spine Institute! 🏃‍♂️💥

Our second year cohort had the opportunity to dive into plyometrics and explore how return-to-sport physical therapy is applied with athletic populations—such a valuable experience bringing classroom concepts to life.

Huge thank you to our own alumni Austin Bennett PT, DPT, CSCS and Nate Daugherty PT, DPT, CSCS, for sharing your knowledge and giving us the chance to learn, practice, and grow! 🙌

Rolling into new skills 👏🏻

Our 2nd year DPT cohort had the opportunity to learn from guest speaker Joe Crump, ATP/RTS - diving into manual wheelchairs, power mobility, and customized seating systems. We got hands on practice with the different types of equipment and even got to practice our wheelies! 👨🏻‍🦽‍➡️👩🏽‍🦽‍➡️

Wheelies are a functional skill for appropriate SCI patients and wheelchair users that can make a huge difference in real world community mobility.

Thank you Joe Crump for taking the time to come in and share your expertise with us!
