Have you heard? We are re-opening in January 2022 and are already working on prepping for the 75+ people that will be impacted by our reopening.

PART ONE

"In another lifetime I lived in a village Haiti for 4 years + was surrounded by a community + team that became my safe place. But things began to get unstable in the country + it quickly became a liability for me to continue living there. After I was evacuated out of Haiti in 2018, I wasn't sure how to pick up the pieces. A year later I still wasn't healing from the trauma I experienced. I found myself back in Lynchburg, with more trauma piled onto pre-existing trauma. Our ministry eventually shut down, partly because of partnership bridges burned + agreements of others not met, + partly because donors are hard to come by consistently. I felt the ache of not being able to pay staff or start programs up again that I knew were giving women Hope. I began to start dreaming up ways to reopen our women's center in a way that was more sustainable— insert Bloom Studio.

Bloom felt a little vain at first. It felt as if I was living a first world dream while my third world people were hurting + needing help. But whenever I would have a sleepless night or felt like the weight of it would crush me, I remembered that what we are building here will eventually build the dreams of women in Haiti + beyond that, maybe other women in other countries too. And THAT is my deepest passion + why I believe that God created me. There is nothing that quite lights me up inside than a woman stepping into her gifting + becoming successful.

It's been over a year since our women's center has been fully operational, but these past years have not been a waste. We have been growing our salon + our team at Bloom + they have become my people, my community, + my safe place. When I walk into our building I feel freedom + excitement at what God can do with our little space. And we are now planning to reopen fully January of 2022 with a more sustainable backing.

All of the women we get the honor of working with tell us their dreams and goals for their lives.

Some dream of being nurses, teachers, entrepreneurs, and fierce business women! Others dream of building better lives for their families, of being leaders, and of learning to love themselves again.

I think many of us can relate to some of these aspirations and dreams. As women, we have so much in common and yet these women in Haiti simply lack the opportunity to achieve their dreams. At the New Life Center, we provide that opportunity.

To be like Jesus means to sit with people in the depth of their shame, to hear them, to love them, and then to walk with them into freedom.

Yes, our center is about education and opportunity. It is a place that provides practical resources to help women find freedom. We BELIEVE in the power of education. But it’s not just about teaching classes. It’s about showing women who are bound by shame that they are worthy of love, safe, and treasured. It’s about being the hands and feet of Jesus. ❤️

Looking for an easy and fun way to support our ministry?

This Saturday from 7-3 will be hosting a market right outside their doors during the Virginia ten-miler. There will be snacks, beautiful products, and information about us! If you’re a Lynchburg resident, this is a perfect way to learn more about New Life Campaign and be a part of the Lynchburg Community!

We were created to love and be loved. To be in intimate relationship with one another, spurring each other on towards Christ.

For the women we work with, intimacy has been warped and their shame is great. Not only are they exploited and forced to live in this warped reality, but they are cast aside and looked down on when they do.

We are not designed to live like this. It is isolating and dehumanizing and objectifying. It is heartbreaking, and we are here to make sure that every women we come in contact with feels that they are loved. We pray that every woman experiences redemption, is touched by the love of Christ, and finds community among this little family. We do more than just provide jobs. We support, restore, cheer on, and comfort women who have been told they are not worth anything.

THIS is what you will be a part of if you become an advocate. A community of people becoming the support system for a woman who has felt alone and unseen for most of their life. A community of people who demonstrate with their time and money that she is worth it. 💛

Every woman that walks into our center has a story. A story where they were not valued, cast aside, exploited, and used. A story they would not have chosen for themselves.

But what an honor to see them walk back out into the world after spending time in our center with a new story. A story where they know they are valued and seen, loved by God, skilled and equipped, and ready to take on the world.

This is why we exist. To be a vessel for God to take those who were broken and cast aside and show them that they matter and they have a purpose! You can be a part of this transformative work.
