Today begins the breaching of the College Lake Dam! Change is hard, but this is a sound decision that can only benefit our native flora and fauna in the long run.

It's here! It's no accident that graduation is called commencement. These young people (and one old one!) are about to start the adventure of their lives. None of us could have made it without the support of family and friends, and I'm sure there isn't a single one who isn't grateful to someone for loving them through the last few years.

Today, only a day and a half from commencement, we're doing something a little different. The person who mostly manages this account (Jennifer Monroe, proud School of Sciences admin!) is going to tell you a little story in the photos about how University of Lynchburg made a difference in my life!

Dr. Perault's classes spent some quality time at Hollins Mill Dam this semester! One of the many perks of of being in the sciences is that they sometimes involve going outside, and often involve getting messy. 🙃

Our plant biology class plays with toys in a productive way! It doesn't get more fun than building plants with does it?

Dr. Friedman says: My plant biology students built plant models this week. They then evaluated all of the "did you know?" thought bubbles in the instructions and rewrote them to *actually be about plants*. love the new versions that they came up with! Now to share them with Lego...

Wish Lindsey Hair many congratulations on her Outstanding Senior in Statistics and Data Science Award! She has a bright future ahead of her, and we wish her well.

Our next outstanding senior is Aaryn Boatwright! She earned her Thomas R. Nicely Award for Outstanding Senior in Mathematics while also a hardworking athlete. Wish her well in her future endeavors!

Sure, we've all got excellent researchers, people publishing, cool labs, and all the things you'd hope for in a college. But does your school have a Biology Fun Club that organizes events with cookies and hot chocolate and activities? I think not.
