Spectrum Lynchburg is a Lynchburg based 501(c)3 organization formed to create a broader community of acceptance of those who identify as LGBTQ+ in the Central Virginia and greater population. Through visibility and connection we strive to cultivate a community of equality where all voices are free.

We missed the mark with our last post, and we heard you loud and clear. Going forward, we'll be working with local artists and showcasing our community. Because our community -- your voices, your stories -- that's our heartbeat.
We believe in trying again, and we'll offer up some more context. Spectrum started in 2015. Our organization formed to highlight the contributions LGBTQ+ people bring to the community . We led the charge on the first Pride festival in Lynchburg in 2019. We formed the city's first LGBTQ+ community chorus. We hosted the city's first drag brunch.
Hill City Pride was spun off from our own organization and dissolved in the past year. It's left a gap in our community. We’ve stepped in to pick the torch back up, to collaborate with community organizations, and to make our community stronger than ever.
The bigger picture is more important. In the current political climate, our energy is best spent protecting our rights and celebrating our diversity. We’d much rather see our community come together than pull apart. If you have photos from past events that you’d be willing to share, we’d be glad to feature them.

🌈 Big news! Central Virginia Pride is preparing for the 2026 Pride Festival! 🎉 We’re proud to continue what began with our city’s very first Pride Festival in 2019, and we can’t wait to celebrate love, unity, and community again. Stay tuned for exciting updates! 💜
