The Coalition for HIV Awareness and Prevention (CHAP) is a nonprofit organization that educates the public about HIV/AIDS, coordinates services for people with HIV/AIDS, and supports Central Virginia’s efforts to prevent and treat HIV/AIDS.

National HIV Testing Day is Saturday, June 27th! CHAP will provide FREE HIV and Hepatitis C testing and counseling at Walgreens on Wards Road in Lynchburg from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on June 27th! You'll receive a $10 gift card when you get tested! Stop by, get tested, and know your status!

CHAP is happy to share that we have a new scholarship opportunity for graduating high school seniors who will be attending an accredited college, university, vocational, or trade school for the 2026-2027 school year. Introducing the Dr. Robert O. Brennan Scholarship!

This scholarship is in honor of Dr. Robert Brennan, a longtime CHAP board of directors member who recently rolled off the board after retiring. Dr. Brennan's commitment to serving people with HIV/AIDS throughout his medical career is remarkable, and CHAP is pleased to honor his service to our community through this annual scholarship program.
