Congratulations to Z’Neyasia Newbill, a CHAP 2026 Dr. Robert O. Brennan Scholarship recipient!
Z'Neyasia is the daughter of LaTasha Newbill and Carlos Waller. She is a recent graduate of Brookville High School. At Brookville, she participated in the Spanish Club, Key Club, Political Science Club, Future Farmers of America, served as the President of the National Honor Society, Junior Marshal in 2025, earned Dean's List recognition through Central Virginia Community College's Health Sciences Program, and was named Second Runner-Up in the Miss Brookville Pageant 2025. Knowing she was interested in healthcare, Z’Neyasia explored that interest through the University of Lynchburg Summer Scholars Health Sciences Program, the Centra Health Career Camp, and the Career Readiness Course at Central Virginia Community College. While maintaining her 4.09 GPA, she worked at Chick-fil-A and 7 Brew, which helped her develop strong time management and leadership skills.
Z’Neyasia is proud to say her faith is an important part of her life. She is an active member of the Jesus Loves People Church in Bedford, VA. Through her spiritual growth, she has come to understand the importance of community service. She raised and donated $1,600 to the Spina Bifida Association as her Miss Brookville service project. Z’Neyasia also partnered with the F.R.E.E. Foundation of Lynchburg, which provides mobility equipment to individuals in need. Additionally, she has volunteered at the Lynchburg Daily Bread, Salvation Army, and the Virginia 10 Miler.
In the fall, Z’Neyasia plans to attend Howard University to study nursing. Her goal is to become a Labor and Delivery Nurse.
Congratulations again to Z’Neyasia Newbill for earning the 2026 Dr. Robert O. Brennan Scholarship from CHAP!
