Keeping our campus clean starts with knowing where and how to properly dispose of waste and recyclables!
🚫 Please do not use pedestrian trash cans for large bags or boxes.
Bagged trash should be placed only in the designated trash enclosure. Inside, you’ll find:

The Harvest Floor in Commons 1 understood the assignment for Move-In! 📦♻️
They’re breaking down and emptying their cardboard boxes before placing them in the correct recycling toter. This is exactly how we can all do our part to keep campus clean and help more cardboard get recycled! 🙌

Here at Liberty University, This Move-In
As students move in, let’s make sure we’re putting the right materials in the right bins.

Styrofoam → WASTE
Plastic Wrap → WASTE

These items should NOT go in the recycling bin. During Move-In, please help us keep recycling clean and reduce contamination across campus.

Teamwork makes the difference!

Custodians, the Jerry Falwell Library team, and the Recycling Coordinator are teaming up in the JFL Food Court to make recycling brighter, easier, and more impactful.

Together, we’re creating cleaner recycling stations, providing education, and helping students, faculty, and staff make the right choice — one item at a time.

Move-In Week means LOTS of cardboard! 📦

Before you toss that box into the cardboard container, BREAK IT DOWN!

Flattening your boxes:
Saves valuable space in the container
Allows more cardboard to fit
Keeps our recycling areas cleaner
Makes collection easier and more efficient
Helps keep recyclable cardboard out of the landfill
Remember: Break it down. Put it in the proper cardboard container. ♻️
