Brothers,
On Independence Day, July 4, for those able, please join us and others marching with Division 7
in the Wantagh Fourth of July Parade. We assemble around 9:30 in the parking lot behind the
Irish Poet / Boss Croakers / Craft near the Wantagh LIRR Station. Step off is at 10:00 am.
Please note that we will not be having our usual meeting in July or August at the VFW. Instead,
all are encouraged to join me for an informal, social meeting on Sunday, July 12 at the Irish
Pub, 834 Merrick Road in Baldwin from 2 to 4 pm. Parking is in the rear lot. Friends and
prospective members are welcome. This is a good opportunity for those brothers who are
unable to attend our Thursday night meetings to get together for some Hibernian camaraderie.
At our gathering we will be discussing plans for our annual Picnic on July 26 at Greis Park.
Details on the picnic are in the newsletter.
Also, the annual Notre Dame football raffle from the AOH Nassau County Board is now
ongoing. Raffle tickets are $50 each for a chance to win 4 seats to the game between Stanford
University at Notre Dame on October 10 plus $2,500 for expenses. Second prize is $1,000,
while 3rd prize is $500. Please contact me at 516-652-9850 for more information and to secure
your tickets. Don’t delay as these tickets usually sell out.
Best wishes to you and your families for an enjoyable summer. I hope to see you at the Parade,
the Irish Pub and/or our Picnic on the 26th
Jim Henry

I was informed that one of our members, Carol McTigue, has passed away. Carol has been a member of Division 14 since 1995 and was a past president of NY State LAOH. Carol's wake will be held at Flinch & Bruns in Lynbrook on Monday, June 22nd from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, June 23 at 9:45 am at Our Lady of Peace Church.

Mary Bradley will reach out to Carol's son about having the Hibernian Service (Prayers) at the wake. I will email you tomorrow regarding a time.

Please keep Carol and her family in your prayers. Eternal rest grant to her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, Rest in Peace.
