I am so grateful that I found ICNS for my son. I was very concerned that he was not socializing with children his own age, so I chose to enroll him at ICNS at the young age of 2 years old. I was also very concerned that he would have separation anxiety. We were greeted at the door each day by teachers with open loving arms. He LOVED it from the minute he stepped foot into the classroom. I was comforted knowing that at this cooperative school, there was a parent in the classroom and it was encouraged as well. I can't say enough good things about ICNS. The school prepared him for kindergarten and life long friends were made too!!! The picture is 15 years of friendship!!!!

A Cooperative Nursery School
Established in 1930 InterCommunity Nursery School is a not-for-profit cooperative preschool which
was founded in 1930.

It is administered by a member elected board of trustees
which employs the professional staff of a Director, Teachers and
Teacher Assistants. Our School was incorporated and chartered by the Board of Regents and in 1958
was permanently certified by the New York State Board of Education. ICNS provides a nurturing environment for children to begin socialization through
creative development, rudimentary educational stimulation, and "old-fashioned"
childhood fun.

Hello ICNS Families,

It is with a heavy heart that we write to you about our dear friend and new ICNS president, Annemarie Scully’s sudden passing last week.

We are deeply saddened and can’t express the immensity of this loss. Annemarie was a loving mother of three beautiful children Billy (6), Brendan (4), and Caroline (2), a
devoted wife and a wonderful friend and teacher. She recently committed to devoting her time and sharing her positivity as our new ICNS president and was committed to
continuing to support the school’s excellence not only for her own children but for all the students at ICNS.

Details for the Wake and Funeral Mass for Annemarie are below:

Wake will be held on Wednesday, March 2 at Perry Funeral Home located at 118 Union Avenue in Lynbrook, NY 11563. Viewing will be from 2pm to 8pm.

Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, March 3 at 10:45 AM at St. Raymond’s Church located at 263 Atlantic Avenue, East Rockaway, NY 11518.

The burial will be private for immediate family only.

We picked pumpkins and decorated them. Our Pre-K put their thinking caps on for their Pumpkin “Investigation” where they measured and weighed their pumpkins and guessed whether or not theirs would float!
