As we wind down summer, a quick reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26th will be the 1st day of school (for grades 1-12. Kindergarten and Pre K will start on August 31st)It will be a normal 1 hour late start Wednesday. Doors open at 9:00am.

If you are dropping off, please remember to park at the upper level of the school and use the upper doors. Traffic around the school is one way as well.

Important Notice Regarding Bus Routes

Please note that bus routes have been updated for the 2026/2027 school year.

As new students continue to register, adjustments are still being made to our ridership lists, so these routes and times remain subject to further updates. All listed times are approximate. Please have your student at their designated bus stop 5–10 minutes early.

On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 5:30 PM, our School Board Directors will hold a Special Meeting to participate in a guided tour of the Lyle School District facility. Directors will meet in the library before beginning the walk-through. Community members are welcome to observe; please note that standard public meeting regulations will remain in effect throughout the tour. Today is the day! Please join us for our Open House tonight at 5:00 PM!

Our teachers have been busy putting the final touches on their classrooms, while our support, kitchen, and facility staff have worked hard behind the scenes to make sure the entire building is polished, prepped, and ready for students.

We can’t wait to welcome all of our families back to campus for the 2026–2027 school year!

Just a friendly reminder! Our Open House is just around the corner.

Please join us for our "Back-to-School Open House" on Monday, August 24th from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to meet teachers, visit classrooms, reconnect with friends, and learn more about the exciting year ahead!

Be sure to stop by and meet our Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA), Cody Magill! Mr. Magill focuses on assisting with student behavior and re-engagement to help ensure every student has a positive, supported school year.

You can also catch Principal Smith outside the cafeteria: new families can stop by to say hello and get acquainted, while returning students are invited to catch up and reconnect. Plus, Principal Smith will be handing out sweet treats to everyone!

Back-to-School Boutique: Free Gear for Lyle School District Students!

Get ready for the new school year! A huge thank you to the Lyle Community Council and Lyle Neighbor2Neighbor for hosting a FREE Back-to-School Boutique for our students.

When: THIS Saturday, August 22nd from 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM (unless you've already reserved your spot earlier in the day).

Where: Lyle Activity Center; 308 Klickitat Street in Lyle.

What's Available: Winter coats, clothing, shoes, backpacks, and more. All FREE of charge for our students!

We are so grateful to these fantastic community groups for supporting our kids and helping them start the school year confident and fully prepared. Don't miss out!

Shoutout to our Superintendent, Dr. Ann Varkados, for joining educators and safety professionals at the ESD 112 School Safety Summit on August 3, 2026!

Focused on "Safety in a Digital Age," this year's summit tackled everything from online threats to real-world impacts. We are proud of Dr. Varkados's continued leadership and dedication to attending these regional trainings and bringing practical strategies and coordinated approaches back to our district.
