Students build valuable skills through classes, internships, sports, clubs, and volunteer work, but they don’t always know how to put those skills into words when speaking with potential employers.

The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) found that graduating seniors who understood skills-based hiring were much more likely to include those experiences and skills on their résumé.

This is an extremely important part of career preparation. Skills such as leadership, communication, career development and technology, are valuable skills! We need to help students recognize the skills they’re already building and confidently explain them to employers.

Don’t just list what you did. Show them what you learned. ✅

I’m so excited to be opening enrollment for my second Career & College Readiness class this September! 🎉

After an amazing first class, I can’t wait to welcome another group of high school students! This class will be held during the day for homeschoolers, but future classes will be held afterschool for high schoolers so stay tuned!

This small-group class helps students discover their strengths, explore college and career pathways, and build real-world life skills like communication, networking, personal branding, and professional etiquette.

Had the pleasure of speaking to this great group of high school students at Land O’ Lakes Heritage Park about “Life after High School”. We talked about college and career pathways and had great conversations about how to choose what’s next! Thank you for having me!

Most teens are asked, “What do you want to do after high school?” before they’ve had the opportunity to explore what’s actually possible.

Career exploration isn’t about expecting a teenager to have their entire future figured out. It’s about helping them discover their strengths, interests, and opportunities before making big (and expensive) decisions.

Here are 3 reasons every teen should explore careers before graduation.

That’s a wrap on Week 1 of Career Launch Academy! 🍬✨
Strengths discovered. Pathways explored. Futures in progress. (Candy devoured!)
Here’s what we covered this week:
✅ Goal-setting and self exploration
✅ StrengthsFinder-style teen assessment
✅ Career clusters + personality-career alignment
✅ Exploring pathways: certificates, trades, degrees, etc.
✅ Understanding real labor market trends.
To close it out, every student chose 1-3 career pathways and started their own mini-research worksheet.

Today is the day. 🎉

I have spent over 14 years helping young adults find their footing in the workforce, and today, Career Launch Academy officially held its FIRST CLASS.

This has been a dream of mine for a long time. To create a space where high schoolers can discover who they are, what they’re capable of, and what their future can actually look like on THEIR terms.

This isn’t stuff they teach in most classrooms. And THAT is exactly why I built this.

To every student who ever doubted themselves…I see you. And I’m here to help you prove what you’re made of.
