Since joining, I’ve immersed myself in helping volunteers and lesson students discover who they are through their experiences with horses. I love watching people grow in their skills and knowledge while also encouraging them to embrace their playful side, have fun, and truly enjoy their time with horses."

Meet Pietta, a gentle and steady draft cross mare in her 20s who is finally ready to find a family to call her own.

Her past is somewhat of a mystery—she is believed to have come from the Amish—but her sweet spirit speaks for itself. Pietta is broke to ride and has been wonderfully calm and reliable under saddle. While she is not broke to drive, she shines as a quiet, steady partner for light riding. Because she has ringbone and sidebone, we recommend a home where she can enjoy an easier lifestyle. With consistent, patient handling, she would make a lovely leadline horse for a child learning confidence around horses.

Pietta also has excellent ground manners, making her an absolute joy to work with:

Stands tied patiently
Loads easily
Stands quietly for the farrier (no stocks needed)
Enjoys baths
Up to date on all veterinary and farrier care
This sweet, willing mare deserves a soft place to land—a family who sees the beauty in giving an older horse the love and gentleness she’s earned. Draft horse lovers—Pietta is the kind of soul who will stay in your heart forever.

Dominic—registered name Dominador De LaDanza—is a gentle, wise 28-year-old Paso Fino dun gelding with a heart as soft as his smooth, signature ride. He came to Faith N Friends from an elderly woman who adored him deeply but could no longer care for him. Her love for him shows in every way—Dominic is kind, steady, and happiest when he’s with his buddies.

He may be a little pushy on the ground at times, but in the saddle he settles into a rhythm that feels like home. Whether you prefer English or Western, Dominic carries his rider with confidence and grace. He is barefoot, requires no shoes, stands beautifully for the farrier, is up to date on vaccinations and Coggins, and loads and ties well.

Dominic is best suited for an intermediate rider, someone who will appreciate his years of wisdom and give him the gentle leadership he responds so well to.

This sweet old soul is looking for a soft place to land—someone who will honor his past, enjoy his present, and give him the loving retirement he deserves.

You may remember Chile from this past summer…Chile is a 15.3 hand, 29 year old TWH chestnut mare. Yes you heard that correct chestnut mare… so age means nothing to them. Chile was used for years at a trail riding facility which recently shut down, so she was returned. Chile has packed kids, adults, grandmas, you name it through trails for years. Chile then went to a family who decided they wanted to work cattle… although Chile has the spice, being a gaited horse she didn’t fit the bill. She is back and still looking for the right home!

Chile is UTD on vaccines, coggins, dental, farrier, and has been dewormed. She loads in any trailer, stands tied, picks up all 4 hooves easily. She would make a great horse for someone who likes to trail ride!

Luna is a 15.2 hand ~17 yo draft cross mare. She was surrendered when her owner lost her father and had to become her mother’s full time caretaker.

Unfortunately Luna came in with a leg injury. We had a vet access her and it appears she has injured her Check Ligament. This is something she could heal from but it could be a long term healing process.

Luna is said to be broke, but with her injury we have not assessed her and do not know when we be able to assess her. She is however incredibly sweet once you know her. We are adopting her out as a pasture pet for now, with the possibility of her being ridable in the future.

Happy October - or as we like to call it at Faith N Friends... ADOPTOBER!!!!

Our goal for October is to RUN OUT of adoptable horses!!! And we need your help!! Do you know a "horse person" that may be looking for a new member of their herd? Share this post with them and encourage them to check out our available equine at https://faithnfriends.org/adopt/available/ .

Maybe you've been on the fence about adding to your own herd? It only costs $20 to submit an adoption application with us - and once approved, you're welcome to come out and meet any horse we have available for the next YEAR! We are committed to finding the perfect home for each of our adoptable horses - are you the perfect match for one of these beautiful animals???
