PBIS Fundraiser at the Orioles
RMS PBIS is the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support program. It is a school-wide initiative that promotes positive behaviors throughout the school by setting expectations, acknowledging when students make good choices, and providing incentives when students do make those good choices. Our Ridgely Stags love it, and you have a chance to support it while watching the O's go up against the Milwaukee Brewers!
Join the fun on Friday, September 18, at 7:05 p.m. Click below to get your tickets ($19.90 each - sections 1, 3, and 5) and use promo code PETE- $5 from every ticket comes back to PBIS!

PTA Membership & Leadership
Joining the PTA is a great way for parents and caregivers to stay informed about what’s happening at school. It’s important to know that while the PTA does offer its members opportunities to volunteer or participate in events, there’s absolutely no pressure to do so. The primary goal is to keep families informed and enhance life at Ridgely for our students and staff.
Ready to Join?
Membership gives you access our exclusive membership newsletter (like this one!) that:
* Amplifies school communications about clubs, sports, etc.
* Informs you about PTA initiatives like spirit wear, volunteer opportunities, PTA meetings, social events, and more
* Alerts you to partner and community activities for students like the Ridgely Activity Center ("the RAC"), camps, etc.

Orientation
Incoming sixth graders get their first taste of middle school at Sixth Grade Orientation on the morning of August 27, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Students will take their planned mode of transportation (bus, walking, or car drop-off at the Lynncrest Road parking lot), and lunch will be provided. Students will have a chance to meet their teachers, walk through their schedule, and get set up with their locker! They may wish to bring a notebook and a writing instrument.
There may also be a new-to-RMS student and parent orientation scheduled for August 27: time TBD. It is intended for parents of students entering Ridgely in 7th or 8th grade. While that’s happening, new 7th and 8th-grade students will participate in a separate orientation led by RMS staff. We will provide more information as it's available.

Hello!
The PTA Board and Committee Chairs have been hard at work this summer, getting ready for the new school year. We are about to send our first newsletter tomorrow: it's full of information you don't want to miss!
PTA membership must be renewed each year, to support the new year's budget. Your membership chips in toward things like reducing field trip fees, school beautification, teacher & staff appreciation, supplies and incentives, and the many clubs and activities at Ridgely.
We have a big school and a big budget, so we need a big roster of active members! Membership doesn't require you to volunteer or attend meetings (though we certainly welcome that!); it's as easy as a one-time, online transaction.
Please help equip the PTA to advocate for and enhance the experience of your student and our RMS staff: join today! https://ridgelymiddlepta.com/membership/
