August is officially here! Our first Playground Pop In of the year will be this Wednesday, August 5 from 5-6pm at the LL playground behind the school. Meet other LL families and maybe a few of our beloved teachers too! All are welcome. Please see the attached flyer for additional dates.
Gentle reminder: The first day of classes is in 27 days. (8/31) Families have donated $3,040 toward our goal of $14,000 to ensure every student has the school supplies they need on Day 1 of the 2026-2027 school year. If you haven’t had the opportunity to contribute yet, donations may be accepted via cash or check (made out to Lutherville Lab PTA) at the school or online using this link: https://luthervillelabpta.givebacks.com/shop
(You can also use this link to renew your PTA membership for this school year.)
We want to send a shout out and our sincere gratitude to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lutherville MD who very generously donated funds to cover school supplies!
Lastly, if you have questions or are interested in helping us have a successful year, please email us at [email protected]

Feeling extra proud of our LL family and all that we do and achieve together.
I had a great visit with Principal Sean McComb at Lutherville Lab School yesterday. Last I visited the school, they were celebrating having been named a Green Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education for their unwavering commitment to environmental education and sustainability. And lest someone comment that they should be focusing on teaching students to read and write, they're definitely doing that, having raised state report card scores from 73 to 93 over the past 3 years. They are fortunate to have a stable and experienced corps of teachers. The school also has a significant community of students with special social and emotional needs that have separate classes and are also integrated into general education where appropriate. They have dedicated mental health professionals who work closely with teachers to address these students' needs. It sounds like the school has embraced the opportunity for all students to learn from one another, with involved parents who advocate for the entire community. I loved hearing about their approach to collecting back-to-school supplies that is sensitive to equity issues, where the school centralizes the ordering of supplies and families contribute as they are able. This is a school right on York Road, sandwiched into a busy commercial area (the school was there first) that has grown around them in the front, as their backyard is adjacent to homes in Old Lutherville.

School Supply Drive Credit Card Donation Link is open.
https://luthervillelabpta.givebacks.com/shop/items/1039889
FAQs:
What is the contribution amount?
The requested donation is $40 per child.
We hope that families or friends of LL who can be more generous will consider donating more to help cover a classmate whose family cannot donate.
If $40 is a stretch, a donation in any amount would be gratefully accepted.
There is a credit card processing fee and platform fee (3.95% plus $0.59 per transaction) applied to donations made through this website. Should you wish to contribute via cash or a check made out to Lutherville Lab PTA, please mail or deliver to the school. Summer office hours are 8:30 am - 3:00 pm and the school address is 1700 York Road, Lutherville, MD 21093.
What supplies will be covered?
The $40 figure will cover students’ consumable materials: notebooks, dry-erase markers, plastic folders, journals, composition books, glue, scissors, pencils, pens, erasers, highlighters, crayons, index cards, post-its, binder, pencil pouch, etc. as needed by grade level.
Are there any supplies we should purchase?
We still request each child have their own backpack and bring tissues, paper towels and sanitizing wipes for the classroom.
