Middlesex Knight Riders Invite the community to the 2026 Middlesex County 4-H Fair!

The Middlesex Knight Riders 4-H Club of Lunenburg is excited to invite the community to the 2026 Middlesex County 4-H Fair, taking place August 28–30 at the Middlesex County 4-H Fairgrounds, 55 South Chelmsford Road in Westford.

For more than a century, 4-H has been helping young people learn by doing. Founded nationally in 1908, 4-H is one of the country's largest youth development organizations. Today, Massachusetts 4-H is part of University of Massachusetts Extension and provides young people ages 5–18 with opportunities to explore interests, develop skills, serve their communities, and grow as leaders. While 4-H is best known for its agricultural and animal projects, the modern program encompasses a wide variety of interests, from science and technology to foods, photography, leadership, community service, and much more.

The Middlesex County 4-H Fair is a long-standing part of that tradition. The Middlesex County 4-H Fair, Inc. was established as a nonprofit organization in 1955, and the organization acquired the Westford property the following year through donated land and a parcel deeded by the Town of Westford. The first fair was held on the grounds in 1956. Over the decades, volunteers have built and maintained the barns, exhibit buildings, show rings, snack bars, and other facilities that make the fair possible today.

Today, the Middlesex County 4-H Fair continues as an agricultural, non-commercial youth fair, run by volunteers and featuring 4-H members from Middlesex County and beyond. The annual three-day fair showcases members' livestock, animals, and projects, giving members an opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have developed throughout the year.

One of the local clubs proudly participating in this year's fair is the Middlesex Knight Riders 4-H Club of Lunenburg. Established in 2018, the Middlesex Knight Riders is a horse-focused 4-H club made up of youth from Lunenburg and surrounding communities who share a love of horses and learning.

Throughout the year, members work hard developing skills in horse care, riding, horsemanship, leadership, and responsibility. They also participate in horse knowledge and communications competitions, community service, educational activities, and other 4-H events.

The Middlesex County 4-H Fair is the club's biggest event of the year and a chance for members to showcase the skills, knowledge, and dedication they have developed throughout the season. Middlesex Knight Riders members will be participating throughout the horse department, as well as in many other areas of the fair.
But the fair is about much more than horses. Visitors will find 4-H members exhibiting animals and projects, competing in a variety of events, demonstrating their skills, and sharing what they have learned. The fair offers a unique opportunity for the community to see the many different ways young people are learning responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and practical skills through 4-H.

Whether you have been involved in 4-H for years or have never attended a 4-H fair before, there is something for everyone to enjoy. For families in Lunenburg and the surrounding communities, it is also a chance to come out and support local young people and cheer on the Middlesex Knight Riders.

The fair is open Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with closing ceremonies and the awards program taking place Sunday afternoon.

Admission for 2026 is $12 for a one-day pass for ages 10 and up, $8 for seniors 65+ and those with a military ID, $5 for children ages 4–9, and free for children 3 and under. Three-day passes are $20 when purchased by August 27 and $25 after that date. Cash, Venmo, and credit cards are accepted at admission gates and throughout the fairgrounds.

Fairgrounds parking is available for $5, or visitors may park for free at 2 Technology Park Drive and take the complimentary shuttle to the main admission gate. The shuttle operates throughout the fair weekend.

For schedules, directions, parking information, and updates, visit www.4hmiddlesexfair.org.

Come support the Middlesex Knight Riders and the many talented 4-H youth from across the county! Visit the fair, find the Middlesex Knight Riders, and see firsthand what local 4-H members have been working hard on all year. After 70 years at its Westford home, the Middlesex County 4-H Fair continues a tradition built by generations of young people, families, and volunteers—and the Middlesex Knight Riders are proud to be part of it.

We hope to see you there! 🍀

Congratulations to DHE Student Savannah on her second show with Bravo!
Bravo was a little unsure about the bridge and mailbox in trail but that's where Savannah's patience and horsemanship shined!
The WT division was large, and competitive at this show but they both did great!
Unfortunately, Honeybee came up lame in the morning so Madison only got one class in before we had to scratch but she had such a good attitude about prioritizing Bee and making sure she was ok and comfortable.
Savannah and Bravo 👏🏻
