On August 7, 2002, Doby's Mill Elementary School, home of the "Dolphins," proudly opened its doors to 602 students, their parents, and to the Lugoff-Elgin community. Along with Glenn Huggins, Principal, and Ginger Catoe, Assistant Principal, 67 faculty and staff members embraced the challenges of opening a new school with eager and positive attitudes and joined together to "Catch the Wave" of ex

citement. In creating our own new identity, we strive to establish a safe, yet inspiring learning environment for the students who attend our school. Our goals and expectations will remain high; working together, our children can and will reap the rewards of "winning attitudes and visions of excellence!"

Monday is the BIG Day, and we would like all students who have been assigned to a House to wear their house colors! All students who are new to DME will learn which House they have been sorted into. Those students will receive a free House shirt at some point in the near future. Students who need an additional shirt will be able to purchase them soon. Be on the lookout for more information.

Gardening Gurus are back in action! Seen here are 5th grader, Bailey, and library assistant, Mrs. Harmon, putting the hydroponic farmstand together.
