Petals for Patriots 🇺🇸🌸

This school year, Maroon Blooms is honored to partner with Shafer Funeral Home to introduce a new community service initiative supporting the families of our local veterans.

Petals for Patriots was created as a meaningful way for our floral design students to express their gratitude and respect for those who have served our country.

Through this program, our students will design and provide a floral arrangement or funeral spray for the family of a veteran at the time of their passing. Each piece is created with care and serves as a small gesture of appreciation for a life of service and sacrifice.

While we can never fully repay the debt of gratitude we owe our veterans, we hope Petals for Patriots allows our students to say, “Thank you for your service,” while surrounding their families with a little extra love and support during one of life’s most difficult moments.

It is our privilege to honor their service.
It is our honor to serve their families.
And it is our hope that every petal reminds them that their sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

Maroon Blooms kicked off Teacher Appreciation Week the only way we know how…. with a little contest!!!

This year our advanced students paired with a staff member of their choice to compete in our first ever Faculty Flower Frenzy!!!

It was a great opportunity to showcase our program and how much we love our teachers!!

Winners were the Petal Puff Girls: Bailey Ross, Hannah Holcomb, and Mrs. Lucas!!

Yesterday made for another year of Maroon Blooms completing in the annual HLSR Horticulture contests!

We had such a fun weekend together designing, collaborating, and competing with floral students from all across Texas at what we consider the Super Bowl of high school floral competitions!
