Tomorrow is Overdose Awareness Day.

Tomorrow, the Michael J. Dias Foundation will wear purple to remember the lives lost to addiction and overdose, honor the families who carry that loss, and stand in support of those fighting for recovery.

But awareness has to lead to action.

We are just $100,000 away from opening the doors to our first women’s sober home.

Tomorrow, we’ll be asking our community to help us take another step toward making that dream a reality.

Carrying Brandon’s Memory Forward 💜

As we recognize International Overdose Awareness Day on Monday, we want to honor Brandon, who passed away from an overdose in 2021.

In Brandon’s memory, his mom raises money to create welcome bags for residents entering our Michael J. Dias Foundation homes. Each bag includes essentials like a pillow, towel, washcloth, toothbrush, toothpaste and floss, along with a special letter about Brandon.

What makes these bags so meaningful is that Brandon’s memory is helping welcome someone into recovery. They are a reminder to each resident that they are cared for, they matter, and their new beginning matters.

We are so grateful to Brandon’s mom for continuing to honor her son by giving back to our residents and helping others find hope and a fresh start.

Over the last several years, your support of The Forest Park Project has helped Christian & Brian's House grow into one of the premier sober living communities in the region, providing hundreds of men with a safe, supportive place to rebuild their lives through recovery.

Now, we're ready to take another important step forward.

Our partners at the Michael J. Dias Foundation have officially purchased a residence that will become a women's sober house.

It's a milestone we've been working toward for a long time, but purchasing the house is only the first step.

There is still plenty of work to be done before the doors can open. Our goal isn't simply to open another house. We want to help establish a women's recovery community that can provide the same kind of stability, structure and support that has made Christian & Brian's House as well as Michael's House and Sean's Place such important resources for men in recovery.

And once again, we're asking for your help.

The 9th Annual Forest Park Project Golf Tournament will be held Monday, Sept. 14 at Veterans Memorial Golf Course in Springfield, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start and dinner afterward at Nathan Bill's.

This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and your support matters more than ever as we work toward getting this new home ready to serve women in recovery.

Exciting News from the Michael J. Dias Foundation!
The Michael J. Dias Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Gina Maria Alimberti as our Executive Director. After serving as Interim Executive Director, Gina has officially accepted the role and will continue leading the organization as we expand our impact throughout Western Massachusetts.

Alimberti brings more than two decades of nonprofit, community, and organizational leadership experience to her role. Her career has included leadership positions with the New England Air Museum, the Connecticut Trolley Museum, and the Bradley Regional Chamber of Commerce, where she developed extensive experience in fundraising, community engagement, marketing, event development, and building strong relationships with businesses and community partners. Throughout her career, she has been committed to strengthening nonprofit organizations and connecting them with the communities they serve. She brings that same passion and dedication to the Michael J. Dias Foundation as the organization enters its next chapter of growth and impact.

"I'm honored to continue serving the Michael J. Dias Foundation and helping build a future where more individuals have access to the support they need to achieve lasting recovery," said Gina Maria.

We are also excited to share that the Foundation has recently purchased its first women's sober home.

It’s the little things that make a house a home.

One of our residents recently took it upon himself to purchase a beautiful hanging plants and a new American flag for the front of one of our homes. He didn’t do it because he was asked — he did it because he takes pride in where he lives and wanted to make the home feel welcoming.

We are proud to support our residents in their goals outside of the house. Dan owns his own painting business, and we’d love to help spread the word and support his small business.
