Really nice recognition for Harris Brook! Big thank you to the design team at MVG, our OPM, STV, and our contractor Fontaine Bros. Also a big thank you to the dedicated tradespeople who turned the plans into reality. And of course thank you to all the members of the building committee who helped guide the process!

Today was the culmination of years of work by so many. Thank you to everyone who made this day possible! We officially opened Harris Brook Elementary School today. A beautiful, state of the art school that will serve the students and community for decades.

It's just about time! Certificate of occupancy for full capacity has been issued (some limits until we have the parking finished). Ready for the kids to arrive in a little over a week. It's was amazing to see this project go from drawings to reality in such a short time. Amazing job by all involved! This will be a first class facility for the town, will serve us well for decades!!

Had a chance to tour the school today with a group of fourth grade teachers. School is almost complete, looks fantastic. And for those dubious about the air displacement system.....it was 90 degrees out today and the 4th grade classroom wing was cool and comfortable. There is a photo of one of the diffusers in this album for those who aren't familiar.
Building committee met again last night. Construction continues on time and well under budget. We are about 78% complete. And you can tell we’re getting close to move in as we approved the furniture and equipment purchase last night!
Project continues to go very well. We're about 75% complete, on schedule. Drywall, painting, cabinetry being hung! Budget is looking very good as well, we should be well under budget, at least $5 million less than the projections.

Here are some photos of the school I took today while touring the site. Super impressive!!
Update on how the construction is progressing. Things are on schedule, budget is still in excellent shape with a little over $7.5 million in contingency.
They are getting close to having the building fully closed up, windows in, so things will be weathertight for the winter. Lots of interior work ongoing, drywall going in. It’s really starting to look like a school.
Look for a big update with more video and pictures first week of December. Building Committee, School Committee, and Board of Selectmen will all have an opportunity to tour the building so I’ll get a ton pictures and video from inside so everyone can see how things are progressing.
Hard to believe we’ll be welcoming students this coming August!
