Parents/Guardians,

If you have not already done so, please download the PikMyKid app and set your child(ren)’s DEFAULT pickup mode.

We use PikMyKid every day to know how each student will be going home. Setting the default pickup mode helps ensure your child is dismissed using the correct method. (You may make daily changes once the school year starts using the calendar feature.)

This is especially important for:

* Incoming Kindergarten students
* Incoming 3rd grade students
* Any new students to Ludington Elementary

If the default pickup mode has not been changed, PikMyKid will automatically set your child’s pickup to the K–2 Carline.

Please take a moment to check your child’s settings and make sure the DEFAULT pickup mode is correct.

As a reminder, there is no summer school this week. Last week was our final week with students. We hope everyone enjoys these last few weeks of summer! ☀️

We had a huge number of students attend more than 90% of our summer school days! Thank you for your commitment and for making summer learning a priority.

Our summer learning days were filled with math, reading, time outside, and lots of opportunities to learn while having fun with friends. A few classes even took things a step further and grew their own lettuce! 🥬

And with all the lettuce recalls lately, we're pretty proud to say that our students grew lettuce that was locally grown, student-approved, and—most importantly—recall-free! 😂🥬

The Ludington Elementary Parent Teacher Committee (PTC) plays an important role in making our school an even better place for students, families, and staff. Throughout the year, the PTC helps support the school by:

🎪 Organizing the End-of-Year Carnival, a fun celebration for our school community
💰 Hosting fundraisers that help bring extra opportunities and resources to our students

Our Summer School has had a great start! It is always a bonus to get some extra recess in with their friends.
