TWO SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL OPENINGS
We currently have TWO parent openings on the School Site Council. Meetings are held quarterly, on the first Thursday of the month at 7:30am. If you are interested in serving on the School Site Council, please inform the office staff by Friday, August 28th. There are always an equal number of parents and staff members since this is required by law. Although only site council members may vote, the meetings are open to the public. Attending site council meetings is a great way to learn about school programs and increase parent involvement. The next School Site Council meeting will be held September 3, 2026

CANDIDATE FILING EXTENSION FOR ELECTIVE OFFICES.
The filing for elective offices deadline has been extended until August 12, 2026. If you're interested in running for a Lucerne Governing Board Seat, you must apply at the Lake County Registrar of Voters office by 5:00pm on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

Online Student Registration is NOW AVAILABLE for the 2026/2027 school year. Parents who have an existing Schoolwise parent portal account can read and complete the first day registration packets online and update student medical information, addresses, telephone numbers, and emergency contacts. All 2026/2027 registrations must be completed online by August 10th at 12:00pm or students will not be enrolled in a class to start the first day of school. Computers are available in the school office to complete online registrations. Registration portal accounts may be accessed using a computer or cell phone. at https://lucerne.schoolwise.com/ If you need assistance setting up a NEW account, please call or stop by the school office. The office is closed the month of July, so stop by the office if you need assistance on or before June 30th. The office will open again on August 3rd. Have a safe and fun summer!

Children may receive free, nutritious meals during summer vacation.

Provides parents and referral agencies with a list of locations where children may receive free nutritious meals during school vacation and off-track periods. Please call site contact to confirm participation.

Estimadas familias de la Escuela Primaria Lucerne:
Gracias por su cooperación, paciencia y flexibilidad durante la evacuación y el cierre escolar ocurridos hoy. Deseo ofrecerles algunas aclaraciones adicionales con respecto a la situación y el motivo del cierre.
Esta mañana, varias escuelas secundarias de la zona recibieron amenazas de bomba. Los distritos escolares locales trabajaron en estrecha colaboración con la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Lake para evaluar la situación y determinar el riesgo potencial. Como medida de extrema precaución, la Oficina del Sheriff ordenó el cierre de todas las escuelas de la zona. La Escuela Primaria Lucerne acató dicha directiva con el fin de garantizar la seguridad de todos los estudiantes y del personal.
Si bien resulta lamentable que las escuelas deban responder ante situaciones de emergencia como esta, deseo expresar mi sincero agradecimiento a nuestras familias por mantener la calma y mostrarse cooperativas durante todo el proceso. La seguridad de nuestros estudiantes y de nuestro personal seguirá siendo siempre nuestra máxima prioridad.
Asimismo, quisiera aprovechar esta oportunidad para recordarles a las familias la importancia de mantener actualizada en la oficina escolar toda la información de contacto y los datos de autorización para la entrega de estudiantes en casos de emergencia. Durante una emergencia, los estudiantes solo serán entregados a las personas que figuren en la lista de contactos de emergencia autorizados para cada alumno. Por motivos de seguridad, no podemos aceptar llamadas telefónicas para autorizar a personas adicionales a recoger a los estudiantes mientras se desarrolla una situación de emergencia activa.
Les pedimos también que comprendan que, durante las emergencias, el personal de nuestra oficina debe priorizar las comunicaciones de emergencia y los protocolos de respuesta, por lo que es posible que no esté disponible para responder a preguntas o solicitudes individuales.
