Sports, Monday, August 31
On Friday our JV volleyball would host Entrepreneur in a non-league match up. Sophomore Kinzie Rollins would have a great all-around game for our Mustangs as she would have 4 digs, 5 assists and 2 kills. Freshman Tatiana Fuller would help out with 5 assist and 4 aces serving and our JV Volleyball would take the game over the Panthers 2-0.

Varsity Volleyball would follow and also take on Entrepreneur. Senior Genesis Ayala would have a great defensive game with 16 digs for our Mustangs. Senior Ashlyn McTiernan and sophomore Jolene Whitehall would both have 2 aces on the serving side, but the Panthers would eventually take the game over our Mustangs 3 to 1. Varsity Volleyball now sits at 2 and 6 overall.

Saturday our Varsity Football would head to San Luis Obispo to take on the Grizzles from San Luis Obispo Classical Academy in their opening game. Our boys would play tough throughout the game showing some great offense and defense throughout the game but the Grizzles would eventually take the game over our Mustangs 32 to 14.

Saturday also saw our Cross Country teams head to Colton for their meet. Junior Derby Demke would lead our girls bringing home the title after taking first place on the 3 mile course with a time of 21:02. Freshman Isabella Bedolla competed against 40 girls in the freshman race placing 5th with a time of 25:31. For the boys side, Miguel Chigoya Dominguez competed in the freshman race finished in 1st Place and crowned the Freshman Champion with a time of 18:51. Of the 95 runners in the Sophomore race, Aaron Pinedo led our boys coming in 14th place with a time of 19:07. Junior Max Gutierrez competed in would place 17th with a time of 18:51. Senior Patrick Sanders came in 26th place with a personal best time of 19:18.

Today we have no sporting events, and tomorrow our JV Volleyball will host Silver Valley at 4:30 pm, while our Varsity Volleyball hosts Silver Valley at 6 pm. Middle School Gold will head to Hesperia Christian for a 3 pm start.

UPDATE: Monday, August 31 at 11:30 a.m. Please note that there has been an update on sports this week! MS Gold @ Hesperia Christian will be at 3 pm tomorrow instead of 4 pm. JV Volleyball will host Silver Valley at 4:30 pm and Varsity at 6 pm instead of 3:30 and 5:00 pm

Yesterday our Middle School Blue Volleyball team would head to Hesperia Christian to take on the Patriots. 7th grader Melina Alejandro Martinez would lead our Colts as she would have 14 aces and 3 assists, 8th grader Alondra Silva would have 9 aces and 7th grader Arianna Hite would have 6 aces and 4 assists. Although our Blue team would drop the first set, they would come back strong and take the next two sets and the game 2 to 1. Middle School Blue is now 1 and 0 to start off the season.

Middle School Gold would host Victor Valley Christian to open up their season. 8th grader Josselyn Whitehall would lead our Colts as she would have 6 aces and an assist. 8th grader Genesis Morales would have an ace and 2 kills at the net, while 8th grader Jazlyn Avila Barajas would have 2 kills and 3 aces and our Colts. The Colts would play strong the entire game, taking the match 3 to 0 over the Royals.

Middle School Football would open up their season as they hosted the Silver Knights from Riverside Prep. 8th grader Grayson Moreno would have 3 tackles for loss on the defensive side, 7th grader Jacob Carballo would have a big 30 yard reception for our Colts. 6th grader Johnny Locarnini would have a nice 9-yard run on his first carry, but our Colts would have a tough time with the size of the Silver Knights and would drop the game to Riverside Prep.

JV Volleyball would host CIMS, and freshman Rickie Simpson would have a great defensive game as she would have 8 digs and a kill for our Mustangs. Sophomore Rileigh Rollins would have 5 digs herself with a kill and freshman Payton Hite would have a solid all-around game with 2 kills, 3 assists and 2 aces, but the Mustangs would drop the game to the Cougars 2 to 0.

Varsity Volleyball would head to Baker to take on the Braves. Sophomore Jolene Whitehall would have a great game with 4 kills at the net, senior Ashlyn McTiernan would have 4 assists and 5 aces serving, while freshman Abigail Klinger would play great all around with her hustle. The Mustangs would play a back and forth game the entire night, and would eventually take the game 3 to 2 over the Braves to improve their record to 2 and 5.

Today our JV Volleyball will host Entrepreneur at 4 pm while the Varsity will also host Entrepreneur at 5:30 pm.

Today our Varsity Volleyball will head to Baker for a 4 pm game, while our JV Volleyball will host CIMS at 4 pm. Middle School Blue will head to Hesperia Christian for a 3 pm game, while our Middle School Gold host Victor Valley Christian at 5:30 pm. Middle School Football will host Riverside Prep at 7 pm tonight! Make sure to come out and support your Mustangs and Colts.

Sports, Wednesday, August 26: Yesterday our Varsity Volleyball team would host Trona in a non-league match. Junior Anelsi Nunez would have a great day serving with 5 aces and 2 kills. Senior Ashlyn McTiernan would have 5 aces as well but our Mustangs would have a tough time with the Tornadoes and drop the game 3-0. Varsity Volleyball is now 1 and 5 on the season.

There are no sporting events today, but tomorrow our Middle School sports will kick off their season with the Blue Volleyball team will head to Hesperia Christian for a 3 pm game, the Gold team will host Victor Valley Christian at 5:30 pm and our Middle School Football will host Riverside Prep at 7 pm.
