Reviewing standards, but make it FUN!! ✨

Our math classes traced their shoes to make a shoe print, placed the prints around the room, and worked together to find the length of each classmates shoes. The data that was collected was then turned into a line plot!

⚠️ WORKERS PRESENT ⚠️

Our third graders combined measurement skills with area and perimeter skills to “fix” some problems around our school. Cracked tiles, new rug, broken windows, and new weatherstripping were some of the areas they needed to “fix.”

They worked together to decide if the measurements taken should be multiplied or added to get the new materials in. It was a great day with this hardworking crew!

What an amazing week! There were so many helping hands to bring this service project to life, and we are so thankful! Our goal was to make 24 “Birthday in a Box” kits and we were able to create 35 with the support from so many. To wrap this project up, we were able to actually deliver the boxes to a local food pantry in our community!

It’s the season of giving and our math class has decided to give back! 🤍

We spent the day discussing community service and ways we could give back. We decided to create “Birthday Cake in a Box” kits. We want to make these boxes and donate them to a local food bank. We brainstormed what was needed and priced those items to find the cost of one box. We then used our third grade math skills to add, estimate, and mutilply so we could get a total based on the goal we set. To end the class, we used Canva templates to create flyers to help fundraise! (Scroll to the end to see these!)

The goal for both classes: 24 boxes
The cost of one box: $12
Total amount needed to raise: $288

Our PTO is helping us collect funds so we can make this project come to life. Let us know if you’d like to donate!
