On education abroad continued where we learned about sustainable agriculture while touring a fruit orchard, where we tasted what may have been the best cherries in the world! Students also discovered how researchers are working to combat climate change through innovative farming practices.
Our learning continued with visits to a historic watermill to see traditional flour-making methods, a dairy farm where centuries-old cheese-making traditions are still alive, and an olive grove where we learned the art and science behind olive oil production.
Crossing into France, we explored the stunning French Riviera, toured the Fragonard perfume factory, and walked through the charming streets of Nice, including the beautiful Vieille Ville and the famous Promenade des Anglais. Many students even took a swim in the crystal-clear Mediterranean Sea while experiencing the beauty of the Côte d’Azur.
Along the way, students practiced a new language, learned to navigate a different currency, stepped outside their comfort zones, and even discovered a love for the traditional Italian bicerin—a delicious espresso and chocolate drink that quickly became a favorite!
While the places we visited were unforgettable, the people made this trip truly special. Friendships were formed that will last a lifetime, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of students. Everywhere we traveled, locals and tour guides complimented our students on their kindness, respectfulness, curiosity, and behavior. They represented our school and community with excellence and were truly set apart, even internationally.
These are the experiences that change lives, broaden perspectives, and create memories that last forever. Much Love and thank you to all of our travelers!

While we were in Italy, students enjoyed making their own homemade pasta.
We wandered through the famous vineyards of the Langhe region, visited historic castles, and all ages enjoyed dressing up! As you can see we took the medieval theme very seriously: capes, wooden swords, and all!

What an unforgettable journey! 🇮🇹🇫🇷
Talkington students recently returned from an incredible educational adventure through Italy and France, where they experienced firsthand how history, culture, science, and sustainability connect in the real world.
During our first few days, students explored the beautiful city of Turin, took in breathtaking panoramic views from the iconic Mole Antonelliana, and immersed themselves in Italian culture during a hands-on cooking class.
Students stepped into the world of discovery at Museo Galileo (The Galileo Museum) in Florence, Italy. In the museum’s interactive educational section, students looked through various historical lenses to experience early scientific and optical principles firsthand.

Join us in welcoming Mrs. Robertson who will be assisting our coaches for the 2026-2027 school year. Growing up in the small town of Lorenzo, Texas, Mrs. Robertson learned early on the value of hard work, commitment, and community. Sports were a big part of her life, and during her time at Lorenzo High School, she was involved in playing basketball, tennis, golf, track, cross country, and was also a member of the cheerleading team. Those experiences helped shape who she is today by teaching the importance of teamwork, dedication, sportsmanship, and showing up for those around you.
Today, her love for sports continues as her family enjoys supporting their daughter in all of her athletic endeavors. Mrs. Robertson states, “some of our favorite moments are spent together as a family, cheering her on from the stands and celebrating her successes along the way.
I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to be a part of the athletic program and look forward to encouraging, supporting, and building meaningful relationships with students both in PE and athletics. I am eager to connect with students, staff, and families and contribute to a positive, supportive environment where everyone can thrive. I can’t wait to get started and be part of this amazing community!”

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Garcia to the Talkington family!
Born in the shadow of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and raised between the deserts of New Mexico and the shores of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin, Ms. Garcia brings a unique perspective and a wealth of life experiences to our campus.

As a proud mother to her son and a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a degree in English, her path to education was anything but traditional. After spending years in administrative roles, she felt called to pursue a career that better reflected her creativity, passion, and purpose, and that journey led her to West Texas.
Over the years, Ms. Garcia has taught 7th Grade RLA, English II, and even served in correctional education. She often says that her 7th graders taught her patience, while her inmates taught her positivity. Each experience has shaped her into the educator she is today.
Now, she is excited and honored to join the Lady Warriors at Talkington, where she looks forward to supporting, encouraging, and growing alongside her students as they continue their educational journeys.
Welcome to the Warrior family, Ms. Garcia! We are excited to have you on our team.
