Dr. Jack Hennes is a Senior Communication Specialist working in Denver, Colorado. He will present on his experience working as a strategic communicator, the tools of the trade (including AI methods), and tips for addressing unique demands at work.

The Department of English in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Technical Communication and Rhetoric, with a specialization in user experience design and digital rhetoric, to begin fall 2025.

Say hello to Nivi, the newly hired graduate editorial assistant for Computers and Composition: An International Journal. Nivi will work with TCR faculty Dr. Jason Tham, co-editor of the journal.

Niveditha Pookkottuvariam is a third-year Ph.D. student in Technical Communication and Rhetoric at Texas Tech University. She holds a Master of Science in Information and Communication Technology from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Painting from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Her research interests include user experience design and usability, online pedagogy, social media, collaboration, and inclusivity in digital environments.

Niveditha has published articles on topics such as net neutrality, art, and art history, and has designed book covers and illustrated children's books. With over seven years of experience as a UI/UX designer, she combines practical expertise with academic research. She has also taught courses in college rhetoric and technical communication, actively engaging in both teaching and research.

This week, distance-learning PhD students from around the country came to Lubbock for a 3-day intensive that included professional development workshops, faculty keynotes, research presentations, doctoral defense, and social events.

Congratulations to Thomas Schnaible, an undergraduate technical communication student (also majoring in theatre), who has won second place in the inaugural LEDA Outstanding Commercialization Award ($5,000) at the TTU Undergraduate Research Conference that took place this week.

Thomas is a McNair Scholar and a TrUE Scholar. He will be graduating this May. We are very proud of his achievements!
