Tomorrow is the day!! It’s our end of year recital and we have SEVERAL elementary schools and one middle school joining us. I’m so happy to see our Folklorico programs growing in our school district. If you don’t have anything to do tomorrow you should come watch all these talented dancers. They’ve worked so hard. Scan the QR code to get your tickets. Event is FREE but you still need a ticket.

Congratulations to our students who worked so hard. In Division 2 they received 3rd place for Best Choreography for Yucatan and 2nd place for Best Costume for Yucatan.
Audri Ayala for Nayarit and Carli Arguijo for Yucatan were named Estrella Folklorico (best dancers) of our group.
In Division 3 Audri Ayala received 3rd place for her solo of Tamaulipas.
Competition was tough but all these students represented our community well. Congratulations to all the winners.

Group competition is over for Lubbock High and we are so proud of them. Months of working hard and perfecting the material paid off. They left it all on the dance floor. Award ceremony will be tonight but no matter the results, these students represented not only Lubbock High proudly but our entire Lubbock community. Thank you for your support.
Viva Aztlan Festival Lubbock ISD Fine Arts Lubbock High School

Day 1 of Viva Aztlan Festival is complete and our students participated in workshops learning more about the Mexican culture through music and dance. Then a few participated in competition through solos and duets. We will get results tomorrow night. No matter the results, we are proud of all these students.
Tomorrow is group competition and we compete at 11am and again at 12pm. We hope to see you there.

Our solo and duet competitions start around 5pm today and our group competitions are at 11am and 12pm tomorrow Saturday. We hope to see you there supporting our talented students.

Our dancer will be participating in the festival with solos and duets competing on Friday and group performances on Saturday. We hope to see you there.

Según su familia, Faith es una inspiración dondequiera que va. Mantiene un excelente desempeño académico, estudia cosmetología en Lubbock High, y participa en Ballet Folklórico de Oro y Ballet Folklórico Aztlán. Además, demuestra gran compromiso ayudando a sus abuelos y cuidando de su hermano menor.
