At Amber Pennington Music, it is our mission to empower students to find and embrace their own unique voice, and to build self-confidence, through the creative expression and performance of music.
It is our passion to continue to grow and enhance the music/art community, both here in West Texas and beyond, by sharing our love of all styles of music with students of all ages and backgrounds.
OUR TEACHERS
Amber Pennington - Creative Director, Vocal Performance Coach, Producer
Amber began recording, traveling and singing professionally all over the country from the age of 6. After studying at South Plains College, she moved to Nashville, where she worked with songwriters and as a studio session singer while being an event coordinator for the Country Music Association. Since returning to Lubbock in 2010, Amber has been performing regularly around town. She was a featured performer at the Cactus Theater for several years, where she was particularly loved for her Fleetwood Mac covers. Amber and Johannes have three singles available on iTunes and can be seen performing regularly around the Lubbock area. Amber also performs regularly as the lead vocalist for the jazz group, Luna Jazz.
Johannes Bjerregaard - Piano Instructor, Studio Engineer & Producer
Johannes, a native of Denmark, studied classical piano from the age of 6, and discovered jazz in his early teens. Moved to Lubbock in 2003, and has worked regularly at the Cactus Theater in since 2007, where he now also serves as Music Director. Johannes has traveled around the world with Celebrity Cruises and performed with a jazz quartet for several years. Johannes also performs regularly with his wife, Amber, both as a duo and with their jazz group, Luna Jazz.
Together Amber & Johannes offer a wealth of knowledge of production, music performance and the entertainment industry. We are eager to share our love of all styles of music with students of all ages and backgrounds.
Our hands-on program will nurture your or your child’s love for singing or playing piano. Amber will teach you everything from taking care of your voice to how to dress appropriately on stage, while Johannes will teach you all about piano and keyboard from basic concepts to improvisation, theory, ear and rhythm training and more.
