Beginning in Pre-K, Southcrest Christian School strives to train our students to be spiritually discerning and well prepared in all academic disciplines – skilled in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Our students learn skills to question, problem solve, make wise decisions, and articulate and defend their Christian world-view while having a basic understanding of opposing world views. We

use a Biblically integrated curriculum including foreign languages (Spanish and Mandarin), fine arts, athletics, chapel and core subjects with small class sizes. Southcrest Christian School has two campuses conveniently located less than one mile apart. Loop 289 - inside Southcrest Baptist Church and is for 3rd - 12th grades. The second campus is located at 7702 Indiana Avenue - inside Cumberland Presbyterian Church. It serves as the facility for Pre-K through 2nd grade and as an additional athletic facility for volleyball and basketball.

Welcome Cindy Hernandez: High School Administrative Assistant

Cindy recently started at Southcrest Christian School as Administrative Assistant for our high school. Originally from Corpus Christi, she has lived in Lubbock for six years now. In that time, she and her husband have served as youth pastors for Christian Life Lubbock. "We love our church family dearly and we love our students!!" Cindy continues, "I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Church Ministries from Christ Mission College in San Antonio, Texas in 2020. I have been married to the love of my life for six years and have two precious kids."

What she is excited about becoming a part of SCS is what the school does for their students to provide the support they need not just academically, but spiritually as well. "The community here is so sweet and I'm truly blessed to be a part of it. I love the opportunity to make students, staff, and admin feel seen, loved, and appreciated! My mission and desire is to allow the Lord to use me as His vessel wherever He needs me. In this season, it looks like seeing a need and meeting a need! And I praise God for the opportunity and for leading me here!"

Outside of SCS, you can find Cindy hanging out with her family - going outside, or simply cuddling on the couch with my babies (85% of the time haha), or with our Youth at church. She loves the ocean, anything sunshine and says she is a beach girl at heart. "I am so grateful and have loved the life we are building with Jesus!! We are so blessed to get to call SCS a home now!"
