Congratulations to Cesar Rocha the 2019 Texas Tech University Student Employee of the Yearđđđđđ. Starting this summer Cesar will be an intern for the OIAâs Nelson Mandela Fellowship Program. He will be working closely with young African leaders. Starting in August he will be working for NASA as a flight controller for the International Space Station. He will specifically be a part of the group which specializes in the Environmental and Thermal Operating Systems. He will be monitoring life support and temperature/cooling systems that keep the astronauts alive to ensure everything works properly.

Subject: IRS Warning of a "Federal Student Tax" Scam
On May 27, 2016 the IRS released a statement warning of a scam involving a bogus âFederal Student Taxâ. As provided in their statement, the scam is currently presented as âphone calls from IRS impersonators demanding payment for a non-existent tax, the âFederal Student Tax.ââ
The IRSâ statement includes further explanation of what the scam includes, how students and taxpayers can protect their information, and how the IRS is responding to the issue. Institutions may want to make their students aware of this scam and the potential harm it may cause. More information on the IRS statement can be found on the irs.gov website, at https://www.irs.gov/uac/newsroom/irs-warns-of-latest-scam-variation-involving-bogus-federal-student-tax.
