Lubbock ISD Fine Arts

WOW! Our students and Directors are making amazing progress on their productions for Lubbock ISD Theatre Camp this week. Students are learning about collaboration, teamwork, and patience, in addition to memorizing scripts, learning technical aspects of Theatre, plus choreography and much more! We can’t wait to see the shows at Buddy Holly Hall! Performances are on Friday in the Crickets Theatre for each group: Elementary 11:00, Middle School 2:00, and High School 6:00. Doors open 30 minutes prior to performances. Hope to see you there!!!

Lubbock ISD Fine Arts teachers met for our annual Flex Day to discuss and reflect upon this school year. They worked on curriculum, shared lessons and ideas, attended workshops, and began preparing the first units of next school year. Guest presenters as well as facilitators and teachers helped with planning the content for each of our groups. Thank you to our teachers and presenters and we hope everyone has a wonderful summer break!

Lubbock ISD Art students competed in the Lubbock ISD / Texas Tech University School of Art Scholarship Portfolio Competition, and their success was incredible!

Out of 16 finalists:
🏆 3 students received Lubbock ISD scholarships ($500 & $250 awards)
🌟 2 students earned $750 scholarships to the TTU Pre-College Summer Immersion Program
🎓 8 students were awarded $1,000 scholarships from Texas Tech University

We are so proud of these outstanding achievements! A huge thank you to the students, teachers, professors, and administrators who made this opportunity possible. 💛👏
